Great First album
These are mostly great songs with catchy melodies and easy to hear lyrics. Fun to sing along with. Being that it was recorded in the 80's before CD's the sound is not very full.

such a cool CD
Marshall Crenshaw is excellent. This CD is so awesome. You can tell he is influenced by Buddy Holly. This is just good music.

Love Those Bonus Tracks!!
I love this album; I have since it was first released. Buddy Holly is the obvious comparison, but there's a nice dollop of John Lennon's smirk and a touch of Randy Newman's subversive humor ("Cynical Girl", anyone?) What really makes this reissue, though, is the inclusion of "(You're My) Favorite Waste Of Time", which was previously only on the b-side of "Someday Some Way".
