The Ramones: Joey Ramone (vocals); Johnny Ramone (guitar); C.J. Ramone (bass); Marky Ramone (drums). Recorded in Barcelona, Spain. Between 1976 and 1978, the Ramones could seemingly do no wrong, and It's Alive, the album that preserved their 1977-going-on-1978 New Year's Eve show in London for the ages, captured the pride of Forest Hills at the peak of their form, turning three-chord downstroke into the stuff of magic. By 1990, the band's albums were generally good but not great, and it seemed as if their days of studio glory were behind them. But anyone who ever saw the Ramones live will tell you that right up to the end, they never failed to deliver on-stage, and if Loco Live isn't quite up to the same level as It's Alive, it proves these guys always gave their fans the sweat, muscle, and cool tunes they came to see. The buzz of Johnny Ramone's guitar is still gloriously relentless, Joey yelps like he means it (and if he has a little more to say between songs, most of it's cool), Marky remains King of the Big Beat, and C.J. plays at least as well as Dee Dee (and is nearly as good at yelling "wuntootreeFAH!"). And if the presence of "Mama's Boy," "Someone Put Something in My Drink," and "I Believe in Miracles" don't exactly give Loco Live an edge over the first-three-albums set list of It's Alive, the truth is nearly all the newer songs sound stronger (and faster) on-stage, and the old stuff is, as always, a joy to behold. If you're going to buy a Ramones live album, the blazing It's Alive is the one to get, but Loco Live proves these old soldiers never gave up the fight -- 13 years on, they were still loud and proud, and you can't help but love 'em for it. ~ Mark Deming The second Ramones live set, 1992's LOCO LIVE, showed that these legendary punk rockers were still alive and well in their third decade together. Bassist C.J. Ramone had just recently replaced the band's beloved original member, Dee Dee Ramone, but the line-up change hadn't altered the Ramones' musical direction in the slightest. If you want raw and simple rock that's both high energy and a refreshing break from the mainstream, you'll get it here. With solid renditions of such Ramones classics as "Blitzkrieg Bop," "Gimme Gimme Shock Treatment," "Rock & Roll High School," "Sheena Is a Punk Rocker," "Pinhead," and "Beat on the Brat," LOCO LIVE is proof positive that the Ramones were a truly unique live act.Spin (6/92, p.70) - Highly Recommended - "..30-something of the Ramones' best onstage in grungy low fidelity...provides the ultimate antidote to life's everyday crud, confronting the horror with a cool big beat.." Loco Live Music Review Average Rating: (4.8 out of 5 stars) best ramones live THIs is the best of the ramones 3 live albums because of the pure energy and the setlist. It has most of the stuff on its alive, and newer stuff. And it has 2 of my favorite Ramones tunes: Bonzo goes to bitburg and all time favorite song ever, the great Wart Hog

BEST LIVE album Ever besides It's Alive!(1979) If you already have It's Alive and want a good live album with C.J. and Marky this is the one for you! 32 songs are on this disc with a hidden song (Carbona Not Glue) in between Pet Semetary and Judy Is A Punk. Very Awesome in your face style delivery if you know what I mean.Once I started listening to it I listened about 4 times in a row because how good it was.Definitely a keeper. Once you start it you wont want it to end! Submitted by gimme3steps101 (Panama City Beach, FL, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
WARNING : SECRET SONG INSIDE ! Ahhhhh, The Ramones - those legendary bad boys from Queens (NY) are back with another fun-filled punk bubble gum rock wall-of-sound live album : LOCO LIVE (1992).
Ok, LOCO LIVE may not be as good as their first live album (IT'S ALIVE ! 1979), but it's a pleasant one, though. You gotta admit, the Ramones are getting a bit old : Joey's voice ain't at his best (I guess that's what growing old is all about). Some may complaint that some classic songs aren't delievered in all their splendor... Ok, Ok... But it's a descent show nonetheless.
One of the best part of this album is a secret song hidden between two live tracks... Yes sir ! We've got CARBONA NOT GLUE (and it sounds like a studio track too) from the original LEAVE HOME album (yep, the original release of LEAVE HOME has CARBONA NOT GLUE instead of BABYSITTER). Don't look for the title in the credits, you won't find any mention. You'll find the song buried at the end of PET SEMETARY (if I remember correctly). Rumors had it that the hidden track had been discovered by some Big Cheese and was planned to be romoved from the CD (in fear of a legal pursuit, as it has been the case with LEAVE HOME - why ? 'coz CARBONA isn't a generic name but a trademark of some kind). So don't panic if you don't find it anywhere : the censors had won. I couldn't say for sure : I bought LOCO LIVE at the very first minute it came out ! My copy has the secret song. Hope you will...
Have fun ! Submitted by the Grey (Sherbrooke, QC) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

$11.39 The Beach Boys: Brian Wilson, Carl Wilson, Dennis Wilson, Mike Love, Alan Jardine, David Marks, Bruce Johnston. Producers: Murry Wilson, Brian Wilson, Terry Melcher. Compilation producer: Cheryl Pawelski. Principally recorded in Hollywood, California between 1962 and 1966. Includes liner notes by Brad Elliot. Digitally remastered by Ron McMaster and Andrew Sandoval (June 1999, Capitol Mastering). With the Absolute Best collections out of print at the end of the '90s and the 20 Good Vibrations: The Greatest Hits missing about as many great singles as it included, Capitol's release of two generous Beach Boys Greatest Hits discs in 1999 was welcome. Unfortunately, they got it only half-right. Since the Beach Boys had too many hits to fit onto one 20-track collection, it made sense to have two separate 20-track discs, but the dividing line is arbitrary. For its three quarters, Greatest Hits, Vol. 1 appears to be a straight chronological trawl through the hits, beginning with "Surfin' Safari" and running through "Barbara Ann." Upon close inspection, a number of major songs -- "Surfin'," "Shut Down," "In My Room," "Don't Worry Baby" -- are missing, yet that portion of the album plays very well. The last five songs are a bit problematic. True, there's a good selection of Pet Sounds-era highlights, but the late '60s and '70s are skipped in favor of "Kokomo," which has never sounded more out of place than it does here. Of course, to some casual fans, this will seem like nitpicking since Greatest Hits, Vol. 1 does have the lion's share of the Beach Boys' popular material, and it is nice to have these songs on one disc, ...

$7.99 \"The band are very clearly one of a new breed, that could be said was sired by Mastodon and continued by the likes of Baroness and Torche, who avoid being pigeon-holed and confound description by mixing up many elements of heavy rock from all through the ages. They are amazingly proficient on their instruments for such a young band, and there is a palpable ambition displayed on this EP at all times. The band sound hungry to prove what they are capable of and how much work they have put into their sound, and as such I say they fully deserve your attention.\"-http://www.stonerdoom.co.nz/“M.O.L. manages to tread the fine line between hard rock and metal, while combining the best of both worlds....seriously good stuff.”-www.ColumbusUnderground.com\"Masters of Luxury\'s \"Welcome to Opulence\" combines progressive precision along with the energy of both current hardcore rock and some of the best 70\'s hard rock. Their sound is unique in that they don\'t stick to one genre of music and indeed will switch between genres several times in the same song...\"-Crave Magazine\"...Now, My God, these dudes are insane mixing rhythms of all kinds. They blend Stoner Rock, Heavy Metal, Punk, Alternative & even some Thrash & grooved influenced Funk as well as Indie sounds. They broke all the fucking rules of rock music plus they use other styles of music to incorporate it to theirs. Their music is very well executed; let me tell you. They really know what they\'re playing & how they are playing it. They make me tense & nervous with so many changes in each of their songs. They are fucking insane but enjoyable & relaxing at the same time. The group has been around for a while now & have won fans thanks to their live shows & insane, chaotic, energetic, pleasurable music. They are definitely something else. Damn it! How do they come out with this weird stuff?, It\'s nuts!. All the musicians in the band are matured and talented. Plus they are psychos, geez! Insane, cruel, psychedelic ...
