Primal Scream's understanding of rock's varied vistas is encapsulated on this release. At its core are a series of dance-oriented tracks that broach several musical barriers. Samples, tape loops, dub and plangent chords gel together over various grooves, at times uplifting, at others ambient. Mixmasters Terry Farley and Andy Weatherall add different perspectives to individual tracks, with gospel choirs, pumping brass and spaceward basslines bubbling around several selections. Former Rolling Stones producer Jimmy Miller generated the spirit of Beggars Banquet for the rousing "Movin' On Up," while elsewhere the group imply acknowledgement to talismen the Beach Boys and Big Star. SCREAMADELICA is the ultimate confluence of rock and rave cultures.Spin (11/91) - Highly Recommended "...Totally mind-blowing..." Screamadelica album
$6.19 To simply call this album the apotheosis of the shoegazing scene--that brief epoch of U.K. indie-rock in which bands turned away from melodic clarity and instead chased after the incendiary rapture of sheer guitar-driven noise--would be an understatement. ...

| | Happy Mondays Pills 'N' Thrills And Bellyaches CD (1990)
Screamadelica songs
$9.85 From the opening bars of this near-masterpiece, the Madchester generation was defined, celebrated, and perhaps laid to rest. Combining the best elements of their earlier releases--stolen riffs, howling in a whisper, being generally rude and obnoxious yet somehow entirely endearing, the Happy Mondays created the ultimate sex, drugs, and rock & roll package.
With the ...
| | VH1 Presents The Corrs Live In Dublin CD (2002)
Screamadelica album
$6.39 This audio document of The Corrs' Dublin homecoming concert has pretty much everything fans of Irish pop could wish for, including an appearance from Bono in his earthly incarnation, fresh from an audience with President George W. Bush. It's to the band's credit that the charismatic singer fails to steal the show, despite creditable efforts via an anthemized version of Ryan Adams' beautifully downtempo "When the Stars Go Blue," and a great, leering rendition of Lee Hazlewood and Nancy Sinatra's "Summer Wine."
