This album had a great great blend of the old and new. Perfect for children of ALL AGES - whether you're new to their music - or a third generation fan. The Best I was lucky enough to recieve this tape as gift from my father when my daughter was born. She turns 8 this year, we all still enjoy it....every once in awhile, I will listen to it when no one is looking, I guess even big kids like it too...Check out the garden song. Peter, Paul & Mommy, Too
$9.29 For a 1967 album that managed to yield a number one hit single and an additional Top Ten smash, Album 1700 was pretty out of sync with contemporary trends. This is not exactly a rock record, but the trio was unquestionably making more use of backup musicians and arrangements that owed a bit to pop/rock. (Paul Butterfield, Paul Winter, Canadian rock band the Paupers, and top New York folk-rock session musicians Paul ...

Peter, Paul & Mommy, Too
$13.85 THERE AIN'T NO WAY OUT was nominated for a 1998 Grammy Award for Best Traditional Folk Album.
More than 20 years after the New Lost City Ramblers' last studio recordings, Mike Seeger, John Cohen, and Tracy Schwarz got back together for There Ain't No Way Out, a 26-track celebration of old-timey music, including bluegrass, yodel blues, spirituals, Cajun, and what is usually referred to generically as "folk" music. They haven't lost much of their edge, even if -- by their own admission -- there are younger, sharper players out there in the wake of the path they opened. Highlights include ...

Peter, Paul & Mommy, Too
$6.35 Along with bands like Styx, Journey, and Boston, Foreigner was one of the first hard rock acts to add overt Top-40 pop sensibilities to the mix. The result was mass crossover success, something that both the pop and rock audiences could easily latch onto. Foreigner's self-titled debut from 1977 is the epitome of classic rock: big guitar hooks, melodicism, simple driving rhythms, and sexually charged lyrics. Two of Foreigner's best-known tracks, "Double Vision" and "Cold as Ice," are included here, as are such strong album cuts as "Long Way From Home." FOREIGNER was a multi-platinum success--with just one try, the band found itself at the top of the hard rock heap.

Although punk rock's furious revolution threatened to overthrow rock's old guard in 1977, bands like Foreigner came along and proved that there was plenty of room in the marketplace for both the violent, upstart minimalism of punk and the airbrushed slickness of what would be called "arena rock." Along with Boston, Journey, Heart, and others, Foreigner celebrated professionalism over raw emotion. ...
