I do not own this album but I have heard it dozens if not hundreds of times. All the songs from Graceland are embedded into my subconscious. Here is my story. When I was about nine or ten I went to art lessons every Saturday morning for about a year. My art teacher would play this album all the time from start to finish. Good music here. My favorites from this are You can call me Al, Under African Sky, and the title track Graceland. The songwriting is very interesting. Very energetic and bouncy. And many songs have an earthy feel to it. But I found that Graceland can be almost too bouncy and happy. I always thought GL could use a few more mellow touches. But still Paul Simon paints pretty pictures with these catchy tunes. (It helped me draw and paint many pictures.) I recommend this album. It's not Paul Simon's best, but there's something special about Graceland that you just can't ignore.

||One of a kind - a mould-breaking album..|
This is one of those seminal albums that stands out as a landmark in the history of 20th Century music. The blend of exquisite poetry, always a Paul Simon hallmark, and African rhythms and instrumentation creates a magical combination. The delightful optimism and lightness of African music complement the soulful Simon's lyrics. An album for every age and one that deserves a place in the popular music hall of fame.

||A masterstroke for Paul Simon|
This album started the whole "Worldbeat" genre of music, where artists take music and rhythms from other cultures and combine it with their own songwriting. Here, Paul Simon took the rhythms and music from South Africa, during Apartheid I might add, and combined it with his gifted songwriting. Put simply, it worked, and it still works twenty-one years after it was released. Definitely worth owning if you like his solo stuff.

||Much Better than Domestic version|
This Japanese mastered version of Graceland is Audiophile quality with highs smoother and more defined, midrange sweet and clear and low bass quick and well rounded.
