This album marks Caedmon's Call's first release with a major label, Warner Alliance, after a string of successful independent releases. The band doesn't compromise their music, though, with most of the songs written by band members Derek Webb and Aaron Tate. "This World" features great harmony between Danielle Glenn and Webb along with honest lyrics. "Bus Driver" is a bouncy tune, and their passionate cover of Rich Mullins' "Hope to Carry On" is a must-hear for any listener of Christian music. "Center Aisle" is poignant look at the reality of suicide and the unanswered questions it leaves behind. This album solidifies the band as one of the premier groups in alternative Christian music with its variety, original lyrics, solid music arrangements, and vocals. ~ Melinda Hill

Caedmon's Call Music Review

5 stars Rockin music...
The first time I heard CC was in my brother's car in our Senior High parking lot. There is something absolutely different about these guys, and I have been blown away from each additonal album. They're a Christian group- their music has Christian themes, but CC doesn't follow the formula that is so apparent in other compilations. If you've been looking for some music that makes you stop and wonder where your life is going, or listen to Center Aisle for the first time, or hear Standin' Up for Nothin' when you know you might feel alone in your beliefs, you've got it. You won't know until you hear it, but every song is heartfelt and moving. Try it out. It just might be your size.

It's likely that critics and listeners will consider Counting Crows' long-delayed third album, This Desert Life, another retro effort by a traditionalist band, but it's actually their most individual and finest album yet. All the familiar elements are in place, from Adam Duritz's impassioned vocals and cryptic lyrics to the jangling instrumentation, ...

Those who aren't familiar with the work of seminal 1980s band The Talking Heads may find themselves becoming instant fans after viewing this incredibly entertaining concert film. It starts with David Byrne stepping out alone on empty stage with an acoustic guitar to sing "Psycho Killer." The rest of the musicians follow one by one and the stage gradually fills to bursting with powerful, tightly orchestrated brilliance. Director Jonathan Demme (SILENCE OF THE LAMBS, PHILADEPLPHIA) expertly captures the music's energy, fusing cinema with performance to create something ...
