In the film PRACTICAL MAGIC, Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock play two sisters who discover that they're both witches, blessed with magical powers. It's only natural then, that Stevie Nicks, who defined the rock-goddess-as-witch-queen image, should contribute two songs to the soundtrack. The spooky, Robert Johnson-meets-Donovan vibe of Nick Drake's "Black Eyed Dog" makes it a natural for inclusion as well. Less obvious selections include quintessential party tunes like Marvin Gaye's "Got To Give It Up" and Harry Nilsson's gloriously goofy "Coconut." However unlikely the aforementioned cuts might seem here, their inclusion helps make PRACTICAL MAGIC an eclectic, well-rounded affair.
Original score by Michael Nyman.

My Favorite Movie & Soundtrack I have hunted in the stores now for 2 years, searching for this soundtrack, to no avail. Now I am going to get it!!! yay! This album has a gorgeous blend of music, and some I had never heard before the movie. Sandra Bullock is everything I have always wanted for myself- My idol, if you might. This move is one I will cherish and hold dear for years to come, and the music is perfectly unforgettable. I am just so excited to finally be recieving my own copy of the soundtrack!

One of a Kind This soundtrack, which I know that you had nothing to do with in producing, you just sell it, but I would like to say that it is a great CD to own. It is a wonderful blend of music....not just 'boring' movie songs, but actually GOOD music, and I think that since you are advertising this album to sell, you should promote it's uniqueness because of it's AWESOME blend of music. It is great and I give it 5 stars! ***** Submitted by Beckers528 (Rush, KY) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
