LIVE IN JAPAN was recorded on Night Ranger's 1988 Japanese tour.
Night Ranger's fortunes may have been waning back home in the U.S. by the late 1980s, but the quintet remained as popular as ever in Japan--as evidenced by 1990's LIVE IN JAPAN. Name a Night Ranger favorite of the 80's and chances are it's here.
The rockers "Don't Tell Me You Love Me," "When You Close Your Eyes," and the anthem "(You Can Still) Rock in America," are included, as well as more refined fare, such as "Sister Christian" and "Goodbye." LIVE IN JAPAN would prove to be the last Night Ranger release for another five years, until 1995's all-new studio album FEEDING OFF THE MOJO appeared.
Night Ranger: Jack Blades (vocals, bass); Kelly Keagy (vocals, drums); Brad Gillis, Jeff Watson (guitar); Jesse Bradman (keyboards).

Recording information: Japan. Night Ranger Live In Japan Songs Live In Japan Music Review Average Rating: (4.3 out of 5 stars) Better than I thoght it would be THis is a pretty good live CD. I always avoided it cause it was so cheap - if figured it was some bootleg. Its mostly a greatest hits set.
The only thing that bums me out is the lack of material from "Big Life". That is probably one of my favorite Night Ranger albums and this was recorded 2 or so years after Big life came out. MIght be cool for them to put out a doubel live CD from that era. They have a live album from teh NEVERLAND tour which there is a lot of stuff from that album.
But, this is a great live album-worth owning for sure. Submitted by Scott (Boston) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 1 of 1 found this helpful.
Night Ranger's Last Great Album LIVE IN JAPAN is Night Ranger's last great album. The group were huge over there, which inspired them to be at their best for these shows. Submitted by Adam (Suffern NY USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Good, but not a classic. This is a good live album, the production is good & the performance is very good. But, as I am a huge fan of their "Big Life" album, it was very disappointing that not one song is performed live. As I said, it's a good live album, but it's not a classic. | | Foreigner Head Games CD (1979) Bonus Track; Remastered
Live In Japan
$8.39 Although Foreigner's third album, 1979's HEAD GAMES, didn't spawn the radio mega-hits that the band's two albums had (1977's self-titled debut and 1978's DOUBLE VISION), it still managed to keep the band's multi-platinum album string in tact. Foreigner managed to survive its first lineup change prior to the album's recording (bassist Ed Gagliardi was replaced by Rick Wills), and churned out another spirited set of arena rock, including gems like "Love on the Telephone," "Dirty White Boy," "The Modern Day," and the title track. HEAD GAMES showed that Foreigner would have no problem retaining its audience as the '80s were ushered in, something that not all '70s rock superstars were able to accomplish.
Foreigner continues their platinum winning streak on Head Games, the band's third album. By the time Head Games was released, FM radio had fully embraced bands like Foreigner, Journey, ...
| | Grand Funk Railroad Survival CD (1971) Bonus Tracks; Remastered
Live In Japan
$8.85 By the time Grand Funk Railroad came to make Survival in January 1971, Cleveland Recording had moved to new quarters, and the group had become a national phenomenon, its last two albums Top Ten million-sellers. They spent a relatively luxurious six weeks or so on the record, and the results showed; Survival was the best-sounding and the best-played album they had yet made. Such assessments are, of course, relative, however. The group's playing remained rudimentary, especially in the rhythm section, and its sense of song construction was simple and repetitious. Singer/songwriter/guitarist Mark Farner sang in a strained, limited tenor lyrics that yearned for basic satisfactions ("Comfort Me," "I Want Freedom"), then led the lengthy instrumental passages with either simple guitar patterns or simple organ patterns. ...

Live In Japan
$14.09 Drawing from all of their four albums, this collection nicely sums up the uneven career of Witchfynde, a band which once figured in the middle echelons of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. Their early material stands out both for its musical quality and its satanic themes, especially in the epic "Leaving Nadir." Songs from their second album Stagefright lose the dark imagery, but retain some bright moments, namely on "Moon Magic." But it's downhill from there as the songwriting deteriorates and new singer Luther Beltz's grating, King Diamond inspired falsetto takes over. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia
2007 compilation by the UK Metal/Hard Rock band. The songs on this collection are all drawn from the band's first three records (Give 'Em Hell, Stagefright and Cloak & Dagger) and date from the heady days of the NWOBHM. Not only are ...
