In the early '80s, Collins took a break from the helm of Genesis to inaugurate a solo career that abandoned his group's art-rock agenda for a mainstream pop approach. In the ensuing years, the king of Nice Guy Pop established himself as one of the world's premier top 40 balladeers, as evidenced by the wall-to-wall hits that make up the balance of this appropriately titled collection. HITS walks the listener through the smooth, well-produced Collins hits that have worked their way into the collective consciousness of radio listeners (even casual ones) over the years. There are majestic power ballads ("I Wish It Would Rain") to light-hearted, infectious pop-funk ("Sussudio") and moody atmospheric pieces ("In the Air Tonight") HITS represents the full range of material this prolific performer has turned out over the course of his wildly successful career.

Who Ultimate Collection CDs (2002) Top Seller
Bat Out of Hell II: Back into Hell CD music Initial pressings of THE ULTIMATE COLLECTION included a limited edition bonus disc featuring four previously unreleased tracks.
Recorded between November 1964 and June 1982. Includes liner notes by Matt Kent and Andy Neill.
When it comes to a ground-breaking, iconic band like the Who, dubbing an anthology THE ULTIMATE COLLECTION is no small claim. The kicker here is that it happens to be the truth. Without venturing into the realm of the box set, there's never been such a definitive batch of Who tunes all under one roof before. Virtually all the bases are covered here, from such attitude-laden mid-'60s mod anthems as "My Generation" and "Anyway, Anyhow, Anywhere" to the conceptual expansiveness of TOMMY-era tunes ("I'm Free," "See Me Feel Me"). We get the full-on long-haired, bare-chested glory of the early '70s ("Won't Get Fooled Again") as well as the tapered, synth-flecked smartness of the early '80s ("Eminence Front," "You Better You Bet." For someone looking for an entry point into the work of this larger-than-life group, or just somebody who wants a great all-purpose who disc, THE ULTIMATE COLLECTION is truly a case of truth in advertising. Get one.
Keith Moon, Kenney Jones (drums).

Metallica ...And Justice for All CD (1988) Top Seller
Bat Out of Hell II: Back into Hell songs Following the tragic death of bassist Cliff Burton, Metallica regrouped with Flotsam & Jetsam bassist Jason Newsted to record this ambitious double album. Metallica made their reputation playing complex music at superhuman speed, and when James Hetfield's lyrics caught up with his compositional skills, the band became a force to be reckoned with. Everything came together on 1986's MASTER OF PUPPETS, and JUSTICE picks up where PUPPETS left off.
Utilizing intricate yet crunching riffs, layered guitar melodies and intelligent lyrics, Metallica forged an identity as the leader of '80s metal. Hetfield's lyrics are often quite dark, touching on injustice (the title song), insanity ("The Frayed Ends Of Sanity") and his own troubled childhood ("Dyers Eve"). They also had a progressive streak a mile wide, as shown in the involved arrangements that often brought the song lengths close to 10 minutes. JUSTICE also marked a turning point for drummer Lars Ulrich, who began replacing his off-kilter playing with a more straightforward groove approach, and for the band, who made their first video (for "One") and thus scored their first hit.
Recorded at One To One Studio, Los Angeles, California between January & May 1988.
Personnel: James Hetfield (vocals, guitar); Kirk Hammett (guitar); Lars Ulrich (drums).

Three Dog Night Complete Hit Singles CD (2004) Top Seller
Bat Out of Hell II: Back into Hell album for sale One of the most commercially successful bands of its era, Three Dog Night had a remarkable run of more than 20 chart singles between 1969 and 1975, racking up nearly a dozen top-10 hits and, consequently, 12 consecutive gold albums. THE COMPLETE HIT SINGLES brings these 21 cuts together in a single-disc package. The band's soulful pop-rock, driven by the revolving, triple lead vocals of Danny Hutton, Chuck Negron, and Cory Wells, and sweetened by atmospheric keys, rock guitar, and tasteful strings, attest to their widespread appeal and sustained popularity.
Though the band focused on interpreting material by other songwriters, their taste was impeccable. Those with even a passing familiarity with the pop music of the time will recognize the Dog's cover of Harry Nilsson's "One," Paul William's "An Old Fashioned Love Song," and Randy Newman's "Mama Told Me (Not to Come)." Two Hoyt Axton songs, "Never Been to Spain" and "Joy to the World," provided the band with two of their biggest hits, with the latter dominating the top slot for six straight weeks. The Arkin/Robinson-penned song "Black and White" (another #1 smash) is also included. In all, the track list amounts to a definitive collection of the band's best moments.

Bat Out of Hell CD (1977) Top Seller
Bat Out of Hell II: Back into Hell CD music Pomp and circumstance of the grandest order for the multi-platinum Meat Loaf and his songwriting mentor, Jim Steinman. The grandiose intro to the title track was indication enough of the tone of the album, with songs stretching out over what at times seemed like musical infinity. Steinman set his songs in evocative wastelands populated by full orchestras and small-town weirdos, 'Paradise By The Dashboard Light' an entire two-handed play in itself, and 'Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad', an overblown symphony of regret and unrequited love. Between them, they pretty much provided the balance of the album. A huge success, only to be repeated by its follow-up in 1993.

Bat Out of Hell III: The Monster Is Loose CD (2006)
Bat Out of Hell II: Back into Hell buy CD music Nearly three decades after 1977's BAT OUT OF HELL, and 13 years after its sequel, BACK INTO HELL, Meat Loaf unleashed BAT OUT OF HELL III: THE MONSTER IS LOOSE. While the album was reportedly bogged down in legal disputes between the drama-loving rock performer (aka Marvin "Michael" Aday) and songwriter Jim Steinman, the longtime collaborators apparently patched things up in time for its release on Halloween of 2006. Also assisting Meat Loaf on this typically bold and wonderfully bombastic outing are Todd Rundgren (on vocal arrangements only) and producer Desmond Child, along with a slew of guests including Rob Zombie guitarist John 5 (the uncharacteristically heavy title track) and virtuoso hard-rock six-stringer Steve Vai (the fierce "In the Land of the Pig, the Butcher Is King"). This being a BAT OUT OF HELL installment, of course, there's room for a heart-wrenching duet (with newcomer Marion Raven) on "It's All Coming Back to Me Now" (famously recorded by Celine Dion first) and grandiose pop-tinged rock on "Bad for Good," which benefits from the unmistakable guitar riffs of Queen's Brian May. If it seems like a lot stuffed into one album, it is, and that's exactly what makes THE MONSTER IS LOOSE a top-notch Meat Loaf record.
Personnel: Meat Loaf (vocals); Marion Raven (vocals); Corky James, Eric Bazilian, Steve Vai, Brian May, John 5 (guitar); Matt Rollings (piano); Mark Alexander (organ); Kasim Sulton (bass guitar); Victor Indrizzo (drums); Kenny Aronoff (percussion); Desmond Child, Todd Rundgren (background vocals).
