Performers include: Lynn Ray, Xiao Fen Min. Recorded at Rusk Sound Studios, Hollywood, California and Sony Scoring Stage, Culver City, California. Instrumental score written by Randy Edelman. "The Hong Kong Cha-Cha" written by Rob Cohen/Robert Randles. Randy Edelman inaugurated his long-running collaboration with director Rob Cohen via 1993's kung fu biopic Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story. Eschewing the stereotypical Hong Kong-inspired elements one would anticipate from music inspired by the martial arts legend's life, Edelman instead delivers an oddly patriotic, even stereotypically Americanized score that radiates heroism yet feels far too generic for its subject matter -- per usual, Edelman operates in broad, simple strokes, crafting saccharine melodies that are pure function and no form. The problem is that even their functionality is suspect -- Dragon is simply too chipper to accompany a story as tragic as Lee's, and its relentlessly upbeat approach grates with prolonged exposure. ~ Jason Ankeny

THIS WAS AMAZING! Wow...!!!!.....Randy...you rock man!! This is the type of scores that fit best with movies!! R. Edelman did an amzing with DRAGON. From nice smooth themes to at the edge of your seat action themes! All you'd hope for in a soundtrack! Sounds more like the ever so popular John Williams or the great (but less known) Alan Silvestri than it does Edelman...but none the less... an awsome soundtrack...there is a theme on the cd that i heard SPORTSCENTER ussually usses for Tributes to an athlete that dies...so for you sports fans that liked it...you didnt even know it was acctually from a soundtrack!
