(7 Customer Reviews)
1994's WALK ON is only Boston's 4th album since 1976. It's one of the band's more controversial releases. Newcomer Fran Cosmo replaces longtime singer Brad Delp, whose voice was an essential ingredient in Boston's instantly recognizable sound. Guitarist Tom Scholz is the sole member remaining from Boston's original lineup.
Scholz comes pretty close to recreating Boston's classic, multi-layered sound on such cuts as "I Need Your Love," "Surrender to Me," and "What's Your Name." While WALK ON didn't prove as big a blockbuster as BOSTON, DON'T LOOK BACK, and THIRD STAGE, the album still sold respectably enough to reach platinum certification shortly after its release.
Boston: Fran Cosmo, Tommy Funderburk (vocals); Tom Scholz (guitar, piano, organ, Clavinet, keyboards, bass, drums, background vocals); Gary Pihl (guitar); David Sikes (bass, background vocals); Doug Huffman (drums).
Additional personnel: Michael Shotten (vocals); Bob Cedro (guitar); Matt Belyea (handclaps).

Walk On Music Review Average Rating: (4.6 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews #4 and still better than all other bands. This album while not as good as the first two is still better than the third and fifth. Sure Delp's not on it, but Fran's pretty good. All the song's on this album rank up their with the 1st and 2nd albums. RIP Brad Delp. Submitted by sliferswrath88 (Chicago, Il, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
awesome band Ive been listening to this band for over 30 years. The original boston sound is amazing . Tom was always a genius. This album was the best recording they produced. Submitted by goldenjake (raleigh,nc,usa) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
A slightly different Boston I suppose my rating may be a bit biased as I am a huge Boston fan, but nevertheless, it is a very good album, however you need to listen to it a coulple times to apreciate it.
The only real difference between this album and any of the earlier Boston albums is that Walk On dosen't have quite the same "classic" tone as the earlier albums did. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, it's just slightly different. Also, Walk On almost seems to have less of a bluesy tone, but it could just be me. Keep in mind, all these differences are very subtle.
BOTTOM LINE: this is a good album, it grows on you. If you're new to Boston though, I'd maybe suggest somthing like "More Than A Feeling" or "Don't Look Back". Submitted by Denver Krushel (Peace River, AB, Canada) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Boston Again Good solid album with typical Tom Scholtz sounds. Each albumn gets more technical, but very nice in my collection Submitted by John Richards (George , South Africa) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
NOT BAD AT ALL THIS IS NOT A BAD RELEASE AT ALL. I FOUND THE ALBUM A GOOD LISTEN EVEN IF DELP SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN IT. THE SONGS WERE GOOD BUT I THINK DELP WOULD HAVE BROUGHT A BETTER SOUND TO THE ALBUM. SINCE I AM A PURIST IN THESE MATTERS I WILL HAVE TO GIVE THIS ALBUM MAYBE A 4 STAR RATING.MAYBE IT SHOULD BE A 3 STAR WITHOUT ANY ORIGINAL MEMBERS BESIDES STOLTZ, BUT FRAN COSMO DOES DO A GOOD JOB ON THIS RECORD AS LEAD VOCALS AND THE MUSIC WAS VERY GOOD AS WELL. STILL HOPING FOR AT LEAST MOST OF THE ORIGINAL MEMBERS TO GET TOGETHER TO DO AN ALBUM.BOSTON FANS CAN ONLY HOPE. Submitted by MICHAELCBAREFOOT (FOUR OAKS,NC,USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

$6.95 Recorded live at Budokan Hall, Tokyo, Japan on February 15, 2002.
This is a (multi-channel) Super Audio CD, playable only Super Audio CD players.
Fans fretting that Ozzy's reputation has been transformed into that of a distaff Robert Young thanks to the runaway success of the MTV reality show The Osbournes can breathe a sigh of relief upon hearing the fire-breathing performance rendered on LIVE AT BUDOKAN. Fronting a quartet that includes longtime guitarist Zakk Wylde (latest in a long line of hot-shot guitarists dating back to the late Randy Rhodes), Suicidal Tendencies bassist Robert Trujillo, and Faith No More drummer Mike Bordin, the Ozzman is in ferociously fine form.
Hop-scotching through his considerable canon with Wylde providing molten riffs throughout, Ozzy delivers scalding versions of classics ranging from "I Don't Know" and "Crazy Train" to an over-the-top reading of "Mr. Crowley" juiced up by John Sinclair's ominous keyboard intro. Ozzy shows his range with the prog-metal psychedelia of "No More Tears," the heartfelt emoting that defines the smash ...
| | Ozzy Osbourne Ozzmosis CD (1995) Remastered
Walk On songs
$7.59 Let us all be thankful that Ozzy's retirement didn't stick. It supposedly lasted for three days, after which he got bored and started working on this project. Heavy, riff-intensive tunes, progressive song structures and a little psychedelia give OZZMOSIS a definite Sabbath flavor. Ozzy must have been in touch with whatever inspired early classics like PARANOID and MASTERS OF REALITY. Witness the extremely chunky "Thunder Underground," which can stand up next to "Sweet Leaf" and "Symptom Of The Universe" as an archetype of hard rock. The trippy guitar in "Ghost Behind My Eyes" and "Denial" are not some young Ozzy-wannabe going for a retro sound--this man was there, "Planet Caravan"ing.
Still, this heavy metal daddy in touch with his roots is also hip to the genre's latest sound. OZZMOSIS has a live, up-front feeling, thanks to producer Michael Beinhorn (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Soundgarden). Zakk Wylde's huge, raw guitar also plays a major role. He provides scorching solos, lush textures and juicy fills with a muscular tone and minimal effects--the perfect complements to Osbourne's songwriting.
But more important than the raging guitars and the big sound is attitude. Ozzy's spunk has indeed rejected retirement. His songs still spew biting commentary at whoever will listen. ...
| | Ozzy Osbourne The Ozzman Cometh CD (2002)
Walk On album
$9.69 THE OZZMAN COMETH is a single CD collection of hits, previously unavailable recordings and one new track. Previously included a limited edition second disc containing 2 of the 4 previously unavailable recordings as well as an interview with Ozzy Osbourne.
As if we needed another reason to believe that Ozzy Osbourne is God, along comes THE OZZMAN COMETH, a double CD retrospective of one of the most enduring and influential figures in heavy metal. Consisting mostly of his post-Black Sabbath solo work as well as a live version of "Paranoid," this collection's biggest asset is the so-called "basement tapes," never-before-heard rehearsal tapes of four classic Sabbath songs. Dating back to 1970, "Black Sabbath" and "War Pigs" are the songs that transformed a petty thief from Birmingham, England into the godfather of heavy metal.
But if Sabbath cemented his place in the rock 'n' roll canon, ...

Walk On music CDs
$12.95 “Chicago pianist/keyboardist David Flippo is hardly the first to combine jazz and world music, but his group Flippomusic Globaljazz is unorthodox in that it actually specializes in fusing jazz (both mainstream and avant-garde) with Middle Eastern, Asian, African, and Latin sounds. The resulting album is as unpredictable as it is enriching”—Alex Henderson, CD Review Magazine This is the first release by the Chicago-based globaljazz quintet FLIPPOMUSIC. Pianist/composer Dave Flippo’s diverse background took him through the academic world of “concert compositions” and the study of world music as he achieved his Doctorate and Masters at the University of Michigan and Eastman (respectively) but then went on to base his musical language in jazz. The blending of these many areas resulted in the concept found on both ...

| | Bunny Wailer Retrospective CD (1995)
Walk On music CDs
$11.49 Although Bunny Wailer became a solo artist in 1975, this collection draws mainly from recordings he made during the '80s. It opens with the egregiously catchy "Roots, Radics, Rockers, Reggae" and ends with a stirring take on Bob Marley's hymn-like "Redemption Song." Accompanied by just a piano and electric bass, Wailer echoes Marley's original phrasing but adds a few well-placed gospel melismas. In between are some of Wailer's best-known songs, including "Cool Running" and "Rockers," as well as lesser-known gems like "Time Will Tell," an effective showcase for the beauty of two simple chords. Wailer straddles genres easily, from carefree dance-reggae songs like "Ballroom Floor," and "Dance Hall Music" to a fierce take on Toots Hibbert's "Dog War, " which manages to be both a dance song and a call to arms.
Bunny Wailer has never achieved the icon status of Bob Marley and Peter Tosh, his fellow members in the seminal Wailers. But his vocal style--impassioned, gritty, and utterly joyous--is a wonder to behold, and it perfectly suits the music and message ...
