The super-hot R&B duo's debut album LOVE ALWAYS included the #1 pop smash "All My Life,"and K-Ci & JoJo follow up that success admirably with their sophomore release, IT'S REAL. Whether singing about love or loss, sorrow or joy, K-Ci & JoJo always put their heart and soul into everything they create. Backed with groove-oriented contemporary R&B arrangements that fit perfectly with the pair's vocal blend, IT'S REAL is a stunning combination of beautiful harmonies and dynamic songwriting. Working with some of the genre's hottest songwriters/producers, including Babyface ("Here He Comes Again"), Daryl Pearson ("Fe Fie Fo Fum", "What Am I Gonna Do"), and R. Kelly ("Life"), K-Ci & JoJo avoid the sophomore jinx in a big way. Another interesting highlight is "Momma's Song," which was co-written by Anita Hailey, the mother of K-Ci & JoJo.

2gether-4ever! I think the two are the best yet in R&B music. What they had started from the earlier days with Jodeci, has not stopped yet. Keep up the great work K-CI & JoJo! Submitted by ambowers (Columbus,OH) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Prelude to a Jodeci No doubt that the Hailey brothers have done it again with their sophomore release. Very similar to their first album in style and composition, this album is sure to please the most dedicated purveyors of neo-classic/classic soul. K-Ci and Jojo's strengths do not lie within acrobatic vocal arrangements and "bouncy" production, yet rather with an unparalleled ability to deliver soaring ballads jam packed with emotion. Each song on the album is like a separate journey that builds into a climactic bridge only to truly define the meaning of the refrain ["You're Making Me Say Goodbye"]. The best aspect of this album is that it doesn't appeal to a listener immediately, much like those catchy tunes nowadays that just seem to come and go. Much like the already released "Life" and "It's Real," all the songs grow on you little by little until you constantly put the track on repeat. Although I like their new style just as much as the bluesy-bad boy style of Jodeci, I must say I'm eagerly anticipating a new Jodeci project from these two rather than more ballads. K-ci and Jojo I love there album. I think they've done a wonderful job with the help of several others to complete this album and perfect it for the audience. I definately feel I've gotten my moneys worth out of the album because I purchased it when it first came out. They write beautiful music and sing it so well. I'd recommend anyone who loves r&b to buy this album! :) Submitted by t_lynne (LaPlata, MD) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
