Digitally remastered by Erick Labson (1999, MCA Music Media Studios).
In the early and mid-'70s, the years between the live FOUR-WAY STREET and 1977's CSN, there were plenty of albums which were supposedly begun as Crosby Stills Nash and Young projects but collapsed. The Stills and Young Band's LONG MAY YOU RUN is a legendary example, as is 1975's David Crosby and Graham Nash album WIND ON THE WATER, the record the duo made after the early sessions that eventually became LONG MAY YOU RUN fell apart.
Listening to this album, it's easy to hear how different these songs would have sounded with Stills and Young's input, and indeed, the best songs from these two records would have made a killer CSN&Y release. On their own, Crosby, Nash, and the usual heavy friends--Jackson Browne, Carole King, James Taylor, etc.--have made a fine mid-'70s mellow California rock album.

David Crosby Wind On The Water Songs Wind On The Water Music Review Average Rating: (4.7 out of 5 stars) A great album, nicely captured on CD This album, I beleive, was the result of a CSNY split (the other resulting album was the Still-Young Band album "Long May You Run").
None the less, this is a classic album, one that deserves to be remembered like Deja Vu by CSNY. There are a number of classics on this cd, including Carry Me, Wind on the Water, Bittersweet, Mama Lion, Homeward through the Haze - I can probably list the whole album really! Many of these songs are still performed by C&N, CSN and CSNY when they tour - that tells you how strong the compositions are, and the fact that so many fans know and love the music.
The sound quality on the cd is excellent, nicely remastered, and allows for the music and vocals to come through and shine.
For the price, this is a great bargain. If you own this cd, you know what I'm saying. If you don't own it, what are you waiting for? Submitted by thela_hun_ginjeet (Delaware) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
This is Good Don't be fooled by all the Young and Stills vs. Crosby and Nash soap opera - who cares - drop all that nonsense and listen to this disc like it's two guys you never heard before. This is a great piece of music, unbelievable playing. David Lindley is on fire and his playing is inspired. Plus you get two fine vocalist, I love the sound of Nash's voice. There is great song crafting and story telling. On it's own its just a great cd - it has energy and grace.
Thank You Very Much ;) Submitted by Elvis (Sacremento, CA.) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Forgotten treasure. Today it does not seem like people remember some of the things Crosby did during the mid 70s. People mostly remember him by CSN,CSNY and maybe his first soloalbum. "Wind on the water" is actually one of his best ever and includes masterpieces like "Homeward through the haze" and "Carry me". Personally i dont think there is one bad song on the album. Even Nash hits topform on "Mama lion". Truly one of his best songs ever. There is folk, rock ,jazz and Crosbys voice is incredibly strong here. You might also try "Whistling down the wire" that was the follow-up album to this one but this is the better one. Submitted by a reviewer (Jönköping, Sweden) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

$15.19 In their twelve years together, Tonic Sol-fa has established itself not only as the most in-demand vocal group in the Midwest, but also as one of the most successful independent acts in America. In addition to substantial CD sales of its own independent releases (1,000,000 copies sold and counting), the group has toured extensively throughout the US and abroad, building their financial base with a steady list of festivals and private shows that eventually led to sold-out tours of theaters and small arenas.Tonic Sol-fa began at St. John’s University with Mark McGowan, who sings baritone, and lead vocalist Shaun Johnson, while both were attending in the mid 1990s. Shortly after forming, the two auditioned for a local entertainment agency which helped jump-start the group’s performance and appearance schedule. Tenor, Greg Bannwarth, and bass, Jared Dove, joined soon after, completing the group. Together the quartet reached national prominence with appearances on NBC’s ...
