| | Don Williams Greatest Hits CD Don Williams Discography of CDs
(1 Customer Review)
This compilation of hits from the first three albums represents only the tip of the Don Williams musical iceburg. While there is not a bad song on this collection it will only serve to make the listener anxious to find the records from which these songs came. ~ Jim Worbois Don Williams Greatest Hits Songs Greatest Hits Music Review Purchase Greatest Hits CD To buy, Click on price to add to cart | Don Williams Greatest Country Hits CD (1976)

| | Buck Owens I've Got A Tiger By The Tail CD (1965)
Greatest Hits
$11.89 Buck Owens had his share of country hits prior to the release of I've Got a Tiger by the Tail and the hit single that spawned it. But "I've Got a Tiger by the Tail" was Owens' national breakthrough, featuring everything right about his Bakersfield honky tonk sound sweated down to a 2:12 single that proved to be a irresistible piece of crossover magic to non-country fans without diluting his basic sound one iota. This 14-track CD reissue brings together the original Capitol tracks from that album (which also included the hit "Cryin' Time," later to be a crossover hit of its own when recorded by Ray Charles), along with two bonus tracks. These are live versions ...

| | Paul Brandt That's The Truth CD (1999)
Greatest Hits
$15.79 Canadian singer Paul Brandt's third album certainly doesn't lack for variety. From tender ballads, to a chilling song about child abuse, to a rave-up written by swing revivalist Brian Setzer, TELL THE TRUTH covers the full spectrum of modern country music. Brandt co-wrote three songs, including the tongue-twisting title track, but he also shows a real talent for choosing well-crafted, unusual and amusing songs. "It's A Beautiful Thing," for example, is an utterly charming number that takes every marriage clichT there is and sculpts it into the aural equivalent of a home wedding video, right down to the cans tied to the back of the limousine.
In the clever "There's A ...

| | Essential Glen Campbell CD (1995) Import
Greatest Hits
$11.65 The first serious attempt to explore the full range of Glen Campbell's legacy on Capitol Records might have worked better in a more coherent and cohesive three- (or four-) CD box than in this strangely disorganized series of three separate CDs. Volume one of the Essential series sets the tone for all three CDs, beautiful remasterings of the hits, some excellent lesser-selling singles and outstanding album tracks, and a handful of unreleased cuts that are, by themselves, worth the price of the disc. There are relatively few major hits here, and one of them, "By the Time I Get to Phoenix," is represented paired with "I Say a Little Prayer for You" in a fine 1971 duet with Anne Murray, but that's what should have made this such a priceless collection -- it works the breadth and depth of Campbell's catalog, going all the way back to 1962, and encompasses tracks that showcase both his vocal and instrumental prowess. Thus, in between glowing remasterings of his singles and some notable album tracks covering 17 years of work, you get a brilliant acoustic instrumental workout, "Twelve Blues," showing off Campbell's prodigious guitar skills and his too-little-explored appreciation of the blues, and a rendition of "I Walk the Line" from 1967, in which he handles the song Sinatra-style (and most effectively, one might add); his previously unissued live 1975 rendition of "My Way"; and his poignant, gently swinging version of "Blue Sky Shining," done with the Nelson Riddle Orchestra in 1979. Casual listeners will be surprised by Campbell's range as a singer, while serious fans will simply want to immerse themselves in the contents from the opening note. The only flaw, and it is a big one with this series, is the producers' failure to put the music together in any rational chronological order -- a box set could have done it, but the jumping around, from decade to decade and between hits and unissued tracks, on each disc and between the three discs in this series will make some listeners dizzy just trying to decide whether or not to buy each. ~ Bruce Eder

Greatest Hits
$9.35 T-Eazy, the 7-1-8 Kid, is a Brooklyn-bread emcee with some of that old school 90s flow and that millennium swag. Determined to make his ascension to the ranks of the Hip-Hop legends, Eazy’s confidence emanates through his music.Crown Height’s son released his third and most anticipated mixtape album, “Tha Future in Tha Present: Hosted by DJ Joker” on April 22. Tha Future In Tha Present is set on catapulting his young career. The 20-year-old emcee is geared up to show hip-hop New York’s stagnant rap scene has an heir apparent. Brooklyn’s known for heavy-hitters. I’m in that pedigree. The 7-1-8 Kid began developing his slick delivery and skillful lyricism from his early teens, busting rhymes in his high school cafeteria. Born and raised in Kings County, Eazy derives his musical influences from Brooklyn’s two rap pillars, the Notorious B.I.G. and Jay-Z. As a 14-year-old pup, he experimented with his first mix CD, “History In Da Makin’.” Then two years ago he got serious and released “7-1-8 Wit' Me, Vol. 1: Hosted by DJ Joker.” Bringing Hip-Hop back to its true essence when emcees rocked with a DJ, T-Eazy has DJ Joker and DJ Ace, Wlydecardz Ent., in his corner backing him up.Encouraged by the CD’s street sales and feedback, Eazy decided to let some time pass for it to ...
