Probably Three Dog Night's biggest selling and most popular album--thanks to the enormous hit single "Joy to the World"--1969's NATURALLY is an AM radio pop-rock delight. As always, the core trio of Danny Hutton, Chuck Negron, and Cory Wells sings other people's songs--the three wrote comparatively few of their own--in a solid and satisfying three-part harmony that made the group sound unlike anything else on the radio at the time.
Besides the enormous Hoyt Axton number, NATURALLY's big single is their version of Russ Ballard's "Liar." ("One Man Band" and "The Family of Man" were other, less successful, singles.) Other highlights include the Negron solo performance of Jesse Colin Young's "Sunlight" and the choogling "Heavy Church," one of the band's best album tracks ever. If you're looking for a non-compilation Three Dog Night album, this would probably be the one to start with.

Three Dog Night is one of the greatest groups of the twentieth century. Their genius comes out in "Liar, Liar" and "I Cant't Get Enough Of It." Still as fresh today as it was when it was first released. It's a must have for your CD collection!

If I were exiled to a desert island and was told I could only take 10 albums, this would definitely be one of them. A truly great album and a showcase for how well Three Dog Night could pick songs and arrange them to fit their style. There is simply not one "throwaway" track on this CD. Their version of Spooky Tooth's "I've Got Enough Heartache" spotlights each singer and it gives me chills every time I hear it. Do yourself a favor and BUY this before it goes out of print.

THE ATLANTIC COLLECTION is a compilation of Hall & Oats' previously issued songs including singles and rarities from three Atlantic albums: WHOLE OATES (1972), ABANDONED LUNCHEONETTE (1973) and WAR BABIES (1974).
This anthology of Hall and Oates' early work--tracks taken from their first three albums, along with two new tracks done for an earlier greatest hits package, plus a previously unreleased track ("Past Times Behind") from their debut--is a schizophrenic affair, ranging all over the stylistic map. The earliest tracks have a James Taylor sort of singer/songwriter feel, with the occasional exception of songs, like "Sara Smiles," which showcase the duo's Philly-soul roots.
The later Todd Rundgren-produced tracks, however, are pop/rock concoctions very much in the high-tech mold of their producer. The real anomaly, however, is "Past Times Behind," which is straightforward country-rock that could pass for Poco Lite.
Before Daryl Hall and John Oates hit paydirt with a long string of hits that began with 1975's 'Sara Smile', they were releasing critically acclaimed albums on the Atlantic label. Their songwriting chops were already in place, but their audience had not found them yet. Obviously, things would change in a few short years... This collection features tracks from those three albums (Whole Oates, Abandoned Luncheonette and War Babies) including their first hit 'She's Gone' plus 'Lady Rain', 'Lilly (Are You Happy)', 'It's Uncanny', '70's Scenario', 'When The Morning Comes' and more. The ability to successfully absorb external influences and at the same time retain one's own unique cultural identity has been a feature of Indian music history. Violin has played an active role in Indian music culture since the eighteenth century. Until N.Rajam first burst onto the music scene in the 1960's, it was employed mostly as an accompanying instrument, played in ensembles and orchestras or providing instrumental support for singers.
