Greatest Hits is a budget-priced, ten-track selection of some of Peter & Gordon's hits, and while there are plenty of essential items missing, it still functions as a good, affordable sampler, featuring such hits as "A World Without Love," "I Go to Pieces," "True Love Ways," "Lady Godiva" and "Knight in Rusty Armour." ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine Greatest Hits Music Review Purchase Greatest Hits CD To buy, Click on price to add to cart | Gerry & The Pacemakers Best Of Gerry & The Pacemakers - The Definitive Collection. Gerry And The Pacemakers: Gerry Marsden (vocals, guitar); Leslie Maguire (piano); Les Chadwick (bass); Freddy Marsden (drums). Producers: George Martin, Ron Richards. This collection remains the best compilation of Gerry & the Pacemakers material that one can buy domestically in the United States, and far and away is the easiest good one to find. All of the U.S. chart hits are here, along with many of their better album cuts and B-sides, from "How Do You Do It" to "Girl on a Swing," all in excellent sound (this disc was originally prepared by ...
| | Chad & Jeremy Very Best Of Chad & Jeremy CD (2000)
Greatest Hits album
$11.49 Chad & Jeremy: Chad Stuart, Jeremy Clyde. Producers include: Van McCoy, Shel Talmy, John Barry, Jimmy Haskell, Larry Marks. Compilation producer: Cary E. Mansfield. Recorded in 1964-1966. Includes liner notes by Dawn Eden. Digitally remastered by Ron Furmanek (January 2000, Polygram Studio). Liner Note Author: Dawn Eden. Recording information: EMI Abbey Road Studios, London, England. Although this 18-song best-of duplicates much of what was on the best previous Chad & Jeremy CD compilation (One Way's The Best of Chad & Jeremy), this release is definitely the superior option. Its most crucial edge is the inclusion of four songs from 1965-1966 Columbia singles, as the One Way disc was limited to the material they released on World Artists. In addition, the Varese Sarabande anthology has comprehensive liner notes, songwriting credits, and original release date info, whereas the One Way disc had none of those things at all. This CD still concentrates on the World Artists sides from 1964-1965, including all of the hit singles. Some of the inessential covers of hits and standards from the One Way compilation ...

| | Vogues Greatest Hits CD (1988)
Greatest Hits MP3 Album
$8.29 A doo wop vocal group from the Pittsburgh area, the Vogues started well in the mid-'60s with "You're the One," an infectious bit of folk-rock with enough of a British Invasion feel to earn it heavy play on AM radio. "Five O'Clock World" was an even better single, a two-minute blast of timeless release, chronicling the feel of getting off work with the whole night still ahead, that one instant when everything is a possibility and the future has ...
| | Enlightnin'Ment: Best Of Lou Christie CD (1991)
Greatest Hits music CDs
$8.39 Live Recording
Producers include: Nick Cenci, Charles Calello, George Goldner, Jack Nitzsche, Stan Vincent. Compilation producer: Bill Inglot. Tracks recorded between 1962 and 1969. Includes liner notes by Harry Young. Lou Christie only had about a half-dozen great songs to his name, which is still a better average than most pop singers. And what a singer he was, putting that freaky falsetto to its ultimate use on the ...

| | Best Of Ronnie Hawkins & The Hawks CD (1990)
Greatest Hits album
$9.09 Members of the last version of The Hawks, Ronnie Hawkins' backing band, went on to form The Band: Robbie Robertson, Levon Helm, Rick Danko, Richard Manuel and Garth Hudson. In the late '50s and early '60s, Ronnie Hawkins was one of the few rock & rollers committed to performing and recording unapologetic rockabilly while others were returning to their country roots or going the teen-idol route. This 18-song compilation focuses mostly on his initial burst of activity for Roulette in 1959 and 1960, with a few later odds and ends thrown in. While he deserves respect for keeping the torch of rock & roll's roots burning during some of its leaner years, he didn't match the greatness of rockabilly's kingpins. His voice and performance were energetic but not brilliant; his material was a bit pedestrian. The best of these tunes are "Mary Lou" ...
| | Rick Wakeman Wakeman With Wakeman CD (1992) Import

Recorded at Bajonor Studios, Isle Of Man, England in September and October, 1992. All songs written by members of Wakeman With Wakeman, except "Paint It Black" (Mick Jagger/Keith Richards). Wakeman With Wakeman is where both Rick and son Adam collaborate to create some outstanding keyboard music, heavily layered and intelligently catapulted forward with energy and instrumental brilliance. Even the piano work is becoming, fusing the talents of both generations together and creating some fully charged pieces ...
