The greatest by California housewife Mrs. Elva Miller, the comical novelty act known for singing in her operatic voice over swingin' '60s mod grooves. 21 tracks, including 'The Girl From Ipanema', 'Let's Hang On', 'My Love' and 'Yellow Submarine'. All tracks have been digitally remastered using 20 bit technology. 1999 release. Mrs. Miller is special, she puts all her soul in her performance, even if her soul is way bigger than her skills and abilities. She just ignores the accompagnement if they don't follow her, but when you are a soloist you deserve to be followed?

One of a kind! You don't buy Mrs. Miller because she is a great singer! It'll make you smile and giggle to yourself, might even find yourself singing along. Submitted by jla761 (Maryland) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Mrs. Miller, Wild, cool and swingin' You either like Mrs.Miller or you don't, it's as simple as that. My taste in music is as widespread as the vibrato in Mrs. Miller's voice but this lady is in a league of her own and her rendition of classic cuts like The Girl From Ipanema, Moon River, A Lover's Concerto and Nancy Sinatra'a, These Boots Were Made For Walkin' leave any writer of sleeve notes on this genre, stunned. Forget your conceptions about what is and what isn't music, this album defies classification but one thing's for sure: I'm definitely a convert! Submitted by clanross (Lisburn, Co. Antrim, N. Liner Note Author: Michael Cuscuna. Recording information: AVatar Studio A (11/03/1999-11/04/1999). Photographer: Jimmy Katz. The latest CD by jazz saxophonist Joe Lovano blends New York attitude with Midwestern warmth in an homage to the Manhattan street where bebop ruled in the '50s and '60s. The music here, like that of such other thematic Lovano albums as Rush Hour (his 1995 celebration of third-stream music) and Celebrating Sinatra, evokes the past without being at all archival.
