| Diamond in the Rough Road Goes on Forever songs There's a fair amount of pretty good Texas-style country music on here--sort of honky-tonk but not quite as twangy, perhaps. "Live Forever" is a real lively, fun gem. "Everyone Gets Crazy" is solid, introspective; "Here Comes That Rainbow Again," a Kristofferson number, is, alas, some real corn pone. If you have any interest whatsoever in Waylon Jennings, however, or in unsanctimonious spirituality, buy this for "I Do Believe." This was the harbinger for his stunning "Waymore's Blues Part II," one of the best albums ever. If it's possible for an artist to sound more honest and humble than Waylon does on this one, I've yet to hear it. By donarmstrg (Quincy, MA, USA) |
| Fun times. If you like these guys, this is a welcome addition. By Dick (Wellsboro, PA) This review is for a different format. |
