Astounding Talent
Having seen her several times in concert, she used the same energy on her albums as she did in concert. I loved every one of these songs

ANNEMURRAY IS ONE OF THE BEST SINGERS, SINCE KATE SMITH. NO ONE CAN HOLD A CANDLE TO HER.
I HAVE EVERY C.D., THAT SHE HAS OUT, AND MOST OF HER D.V.D'S.
IN MY OPONION, SHE HAS NEVER MADE A BAD RECORD.

anne is just the best
One of the most gifted yet underappreciated artists of all time. Perfection, professionalism and good taste-Anne has it all. I wish this album had more songs on it-she has so many great hits that it is hard to boil them down to just 20 songs. I hope she sings forever !

"Definitely The Best...So Far"
Anne Murray continues to enjoy huge popularity with audiences young and old. From her early years with Capitol (in Canada first) in the late 60's through her recent deals with Straight Way, it is clear she has a knack for selecting the perfect pop and country material for her effortless, come-hither voice.
As this collection demonstrates, Anne's material ranges from the easy-going (You Needed Me, Danny's Song, Shadow's In The Moonlight) to the more crank-it-up (Now & Forever, Time Don't Run Out On Me, You Won't See Me)
With Jim Ed Norman at the board during songs like "I Just Fall In Love Again" and "Just Another Woman In Love," Ms. Murray couldn't go wrong when it came to production quality, arrangements and overall appeal.
Yet, when David Foster known for producing dozens of successful albums for artists like Natalie Cole and recently Celine Dion,)stepped in on 1986’s "Now & Forever" he pushed Anne Murray in a direction not automatically associated with her middle-of-the-road reputation--a direction nonetheless she is not only familiar with, but very convincing.
Many of Anne's "hits" compilations have nearly the same tune stack. However, this one has a couple of excellent inclusions: "Somebody's Always Saying Goodbye," from the "Hottest Night Of The Year" album, is one of THE country songs if there ever was one. And though she was born as far from Music City as one can, this is a perfect marriage between a great (country) song and a great (country-pop) singer.
The other is "Another Sleepless Night," from the "Where Do You Go When You Dream" album. Take the time to really listen to this recording. The melody is not the easiest to sing and Anne wraps herself around it, nabbing every note with great precision.
The final track, "Over You," was recorded during one of her sessions from the early 80's. If you pay close enough attention to this song you'll re-discover just how gifted this "less-is- more" vocalist is.
This is an essential collection because it encompasses most of the really great material from both her "Greatest Hits" and "Greatest Hits Vol. II" CDs. Definitely a 4-STAR collection!
