This posthumous greatest hits compilation is a more than serviceable collection of this L.A. new wave combo's best moments, which were nearly always on their singles. Skipping non-chronologically around, the album includes everything from their loopy 1980 debut "I Like Boys" and the stunning early single "Mental Hopscotch" to early-MTV powerhouses like "Destination Unknown" and "Words."
Later, less commercially viable tunes like the excellent pop-rocker "Right Now" and the commercially minded "I Can't Think About Dancing" are also well represented. THE BEST OF MISSING PERSONS reminds all but the most anti-'80s folks that for all the adverse criticism this band took during their career, they were actually pretty terrific.
Missing Persons includes: Dale Bozzio, Terry Bozzio, Warren Cuccurullo.
Producers: Ken Scott, Terry Bozzio, Bruce Swedien, Bernard Edwards, Missing Persons.
Best Of Missing Persons Music Best Of Missing Persons Songs Best Of Missing Persons Music Review Average Rating: (3.4 out of 5 stars) Great if you cannot find Destination Unknown Great album if, just like me, cannot get hold of the hit single Destination Unknown - Very 80s groove by the way. For those who enjoyed that sort of electronic/new romantic period.

Quite a TOP-80's sound I grew up in the 80's (in my 20's then) and I liked this group. As I listened to this "best of" CD I was reminded how very different they were (especially the very talented lead girl singer)and how GREAT they were. A "MUST HAVE" CD. Give credit where it's due! I had this on the stereo recently when our 15 year old daughter runs in & asks "Is this the new No Doubt cd?" Missing Persons music is power pop for sure with a bit of grit. Very much an '80's thing but easy to dance to. This is a "Best of" so many of the better MP songs have been left behind. So deal with it-and like buy this one like for your teenagers y'no like just like totally do it Mr. Bufu! Submitted by Brian Mc (Stratford, Iowa, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Best Of Missing Persons CD music
$7.05 The Berlin entry in Universal Music's discount-priced best-of series, 20th Century Masters/The Millennium Collection, is a straight reissue of the 1988 album The Best of Berlin 1979-1988. Berlin's electro-pop sound is salvaged only by the enduring and assertive voice of Terri Nunn, which is why The Best of Berlin is the most preferable place to hear this Los Angeles-based group's music. The synth-soaked punch of ""No More Words"" from 1984's Love Life album and the week-long number one ballad ...

Best Of Missing Persons album
$20.39 "The Queen And The Soldier" was recorded live at The Paleo Festival, Nyon, Switzerland, 1991.
Recorded between 1985 & 2001. Includes liner notes by Lenny Kaye.
This collection from the esoteric singer/songwriter features not only hits like "Luka," "Tom's Diner," "(I'll Never Be) Your Maggie May," No Cheap Thrills," and "Gypsy," but it also includes five live cuts and a demo version of "Anniversary."
When Suzanne Vega emerged in the mid-1980s, she heralded the arrival of a new kind of troubadour, one who merged the contemplative singer/songwriter tradition of Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, et al, with a decidedly modernistic outlook influenced by the likes of Lou Reed, David Byrne, and Laurie Anderson. Consequently, she had a huge impact on what singer/songwriters sounded like from then on. Listening to the comprehensive anthology RETROSPECTIVE, it's easy to see why. The artful minimalism of such early songs ...

| | Amaan Ali Khan Truth CD (2007)
Best Of Missing Persons album
$14.49 It's so obvious from both the liner notes and the performances on Truth that Amaan and Ayaan Ali Khan believe in what they are doing, which is basically marrying Indian classical music -- from the innovations of their famous father Amjad Ali Khan (a musician who redefined the way the sarod was played and used) -- to modern electronic music. While it's true that the notion of world music and electronic music fused together is as tired a concept as there is, these two brothers approach their task with optimism. One thing that is never sacrificed in this mix of tunes is the classical ...
