Poison's Greatest Hits 1986-1996 is as definitive as a Poison compilation could hope to be. Featuring a full 18 tracks, including all of their Top 50 hits ("Talk Dirty to Me," "I Want Action," "Nothin' but a Good Time," "Fallen Angel," "Every Rose Has Its Thorn," "Your Mama Don't Dance," "Unskinny Bop," "Something to Belive In," "Stand," among others) plus two unreleased cuts ("Sexual Thing," "Lay Your Body Down"), the album boasts every worthwhile song the group ever recorded, augmented by Bret Michaels' track-by-track commentary. Though the album isn't sequenced in chronological order, it plays like an excellent mixtape, which actually makes the album more listenable. Even on a compilation, Poison wears a little thin -- there are still dull moments among these 18 songs, mainly in the form of lesser-known album tracks and singles -- but still, Greatest Hits 1986-1996 is the most enteraining album the band ever released. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine

This doesn't even deserve one star. Poison was a band that ripped off everyone in the rock scene. They tried to have KISS' stage show, they copied Helix's "Deep Cuts the Knife" video, and Motley Crue's attitude. Bret thinks he's cool because he shot up...... because of his diabetes.  Pretty cheesy but it has its moments...
This is what hair metal is about- incredibly cheesy songs about booze, sex, and rock and even worse ballads. "Ever Rose Has its Thorn" has got to be the worse ballad I've ever heard. But there are good songs on here such as "nothing but a good time" and "something to believe in". It's good for a good laugh or if you're really desperate..

Awesome songs
This is a great CD. The majority of the songs on the CD are worth listening to. Every Rose Has its Thorn and Gimme Something to Believe in are my favs. But, I think that there are a few (like unskinny bop & talk dirty to me) that are kind of corny. But, the songs that are good are AWESOME and Poison's GH is definately worth addi9ng to your 80's metal of hard rock collection.

Best of the Best
Having purchased the album, I knew that Poison had put out some great songs, like "Something to Believe in" and "Nothing but a Good Time". This album, though, is probably the ultimate collection of all their best songs. A definite "Must Buy" in my opinion
