| | Complete John Waite, Volume 1: Falling Backwards CD John Waite Discography of CDs
(4 Customer Reviews)
A 17-track career retrospective that not only spans the mid-'70s to the mid-'90s, but encompasses solo cuts and songs that John Waite recorded with the Babys in the '70s and Bad English in the '80s. For all that, it's remarkably inconsequential right-of-center mainstream commercial rock, whether he's playing guitar-based pop/rock with the Babys or doing the power ballad thing with Bad English. Includes his 1984 number one solo single "Missing You," the Bad English smashes "When I See You Smile" and "Price of Love," and several smaller hits. ~ Richie Unterberger

Complete John Waite, Volume 1: Falling Backwards music CDs
$9.69 Nights Are Forever was the breakthrough album for Dan Seals and John Coley after some sincere and excellent work on A&M Records in the early '70s. Two of their biggest hits were the title track and the beautiful "I'd Really Love to See You Tonight." Those songs are a good indication of the fine performances this 1976 album contains. The duo's originals like "Long Way Home" and the Dan Fogelberg-ish "Westward Wind" could have been hits as well displaying superb musicianship and delicate vocals. This ...
| | England Dan Dr. Heckle & Mr. Jive CD (1978) Reissued
Complete John Waite, Volume 1: Falling Backwards songs
$9.55 The sincerity of their days on A&M Records has turned to total formula by the time Dr. Heckyl & Mr. Jive came around -- and Robert Louis Stevenson expert, author Ray McNally, makes it clear in his book on Mr. Hyde that the true pronunciation is Dr. Jeekill (as in, "I Kill and Hide"). It is quite a paradox that this justified attack on the Hollywood system uses the mispronunciation of this famous title which Hollywood forced upon the world. Were these ...

| | Totimoshi Milagrosa CD (2008)
Complete John Waite, Volume 1: Falling Backwards music CDs
$12.69 In a rare display of earnest self-awareness, Bay Area trio Totimoshi were the first to admit that 2008's Milagrosa -- their fifth full-length and first for Volcom Entertainment -- was something of a transitional project; comprising vocalist/guitarist Tony Aguilar and bassist Meg Castellanos' determined effort to not only distance themselves from once dominant post-grunge influences (particularly drawn from the Melvins and Nirvana), but to incorporate their shared Latin heritage into what could loosely be deemed a concept album. The son of migrant farm workers, chief songwriter Aguilar reportedly drew from personal experience to convey the ...
