On BIG TIME, Trace Adkins' mellow drawl and down-home sensibilities permeate most every track. Conservative and friendly, Adkins gives off a good ol' boy playfulness while occasionally tugging at the proverbial heart strings. The standard themes of love won and lost and having a good ol' time are in plentiful supply, but Adkins avoids the cliches which tend to undermine most of the new young country crowd. It is clear that he holds country tradition in high regard while keeping his sound completely contemporary.
Producers Scott Hendricks and Adkins conjure up a wide variety of moods. The kick-up-your-heels feel of "Twenty-Four Seven," "See Jane Run," "Nothin' But Taillights" and the title track should make them line dancing favorites. No self-respecting country album would be complete without a few tender moments like "The Rest Of Mine" and the superb "Out Of My Dreams." Finally, a subtle performance of the classic "Wayfaring Stranger" rounds out the set. Make no mistake, Trace Adkins is definitely in the big leagues with BIG TIME.

EVERYWHERE starts out strong with "Where The Green Grass Grows," a rocking anthem for country living, guaranteed to make even city folks hum along. And though the album contains its fair share of up-tempo songs, the real treats here are the slower ballads. Tim McGraw may wear a big, imposing hat, but under the brim lies a sensitive soul. "It's Your Love" is a heartfelt torch song duet with Tim's wife, Faith Hill.
Tim's strength stems from willingness to share his vulnerability. ...
