The Pure Gold collection Hurt includes only 12 tracks of country-soul paragon Timi Yuro, but after considering the preponderance of re-recordings flooding the market, the compilation earns marks simply for sticking to the originals. After leading off with Yuro's biggest hit, the orchestral heartbreak of "Hurt," it only picks up two of her other best-known performances, "Smile" and "She Really Loves You." Shell out a few more dollars and instead spring for EMI's Hurt: The Best of Timi Yuro or RPM's The Lost Voice of Soul! ~ John Bush 25-song compilation of her Liberty work, all but one dating from her commercial and artistic peak in 1961-64. Includes all of her chart singles, and some of her more memorable LP tracks, as well as an informative history by Dawn Eden. A jumpy document of an impressive talent whose material was not always up to her skills, with early-'60s orchestral arrangements ranging from effective to dated. ~ Richie Unterberger Best Of Timi Yuro: Hurt Music Best Of Timi Yuro: Hurt Songs Best Of Timi Yuro: Hurt Music Review Average Rating: (4.9 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews simplel the best timi made us belive every word she sang!!! there will never be another TIMI YURO. i have all her 45's/albums/cd's you name it,if only someone would put a BOX SET! i would buy that to just because it's TIMI YURO.

One of the glorious oldest I remember listing to her music as a child in the 80's, (my mum's collection) and I thought this lady sings from her soul. She brought me to tears, her voice was incredible, and her music touched my heart. There will never be another Timi Yuro, sadly, so many didn't even know she existed. This CD just reminded me of her glorious voice and her insight in love. Submitted by djackson (FortWayne IN) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Issued in 2008, this expanded edition of Gary Numan's groundbreaking 1979 synth-pop album, REPLICAS, presents an entire bonus disc of alternate takes and rarities, essentially revealing an early version of the classic Bowie-gone-robotic record. In addition to punchier renditions of "Me! I Disconnect from You" and "Are `Friends' Electric?" the second CD also includes excellent non-album tracks, most notably the coldly funky "Only a Downstat." As early as 1977, English pop savant Gary Numan was crafting forward-looking new wave rock that was light years ahead of the punk being offered by his contemporaries. Bravely going against all current musical fashion, Numan blended science fiction themes and tales of urban paranoia into concise ...
