| | Sun Greatest Hits CD Sun Discography of CDs
(3 Customer Reviews)
If you're a Sun fan or just a plain old stomp-down '70s funk freak, at under ten dollars via online shops, this 17-track greatest-hits package is a bargain; if you're not, a buck will seem excessive. The Dayton, OH-based, band-patented groove gets a little tired after so many tracks; the occasional ballad breaks the monotony and keeps your interest from dissipating, but this is dancing, not listening, music. ~ Andrew Hamilton Sun Greatest Hits Songs | 1. | Sun Is Here | $0.99 | |

Purchase Greatest Hits CD To buy, Click on price to add to cart | Pockets Golden Classics CD (1996)
Greatest Hits
$10.39 A misleading title, while not "golden classics" these are the best of the Pockets' -- a self-contained band from Baltimore -- brief run. A career harpooned by misfortune and the complicated dynamics of keeping an eight-piece band intact. Pockets' sound was uplifting, lively, and vibrant; they were equally as adept on ballads, ups, mids, and straight jams. Their lead singer sounded like Lenny Williams, and pulsating rhythms, ...

| | Best Of One Way CD (1996)
Greatest Hits
$8.09 Recorded between 1976 and 1987. Includes liner notes by David Nathan.
Originally, One Way came out as Al Hudson & the Soul Partners and recorded a few interesting, but unsuccessful albums for ABC Records. They were then, and are now, a self-contained act, though the original name suggests a standup vocal group. Essentially, Midwest wonders, they never crossed over, and never got as big as predicted on the R&B circuit, despite having a devastating live act. They should have added their bassist/falsetto tenor, Kevin McCord to the title; he contributes as much as Hudson & Myers, if not ...

| | Kleer Very Best Of Kleeer CD (1998)
Greatest Hits
$11.65 The Very Best of Kleeer is an excellent 13-track collection that is, in many ways, the definitive overview of the funk band's career. All of the group's R&B hits -- "Keep Your Body Workin'," "Tonight's the Night (Good Time)," "Winners," "Open Your Mind," "Get Tough," "Running Back to You," "Taste the Music," "De Ting Continues," "She Said She Loves Me," "Next Time It's for Real," "Intimate Connection," "Take Your Heart Away" -- are here, usually presented in their full-length album versions instead of the edited single versions. While this might make Very Best a little too lengthy for some casual fans who just want singles -- after all, it runs over 77 minutes -- it's hard to imagine a more comprehensive collection than this. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine

| | Best Of Skyy CD (1995) Germany
Greatest Hits
$14.99 A faulty Skyy compilation from the ever unreliable ZYX, this disc contains many of the group's charting singles -- "Here's to You," "High," "Call Me," "Celebrate" -- but favors many inferior album cuts over other charting singles. Neither "First Time Around" nor "Let's Turn It Out" (which gave the group its first two trips to the R&B chart) are here, ...
