Although she has now been eclipsed by younger urban R&B female stars, Houston will stand as the first to bring this type of clean soul music to the world. In the USA alone, this record stayed in the charts for four years, sold fifteen million copies and spent fourteen weeks on top of the charts. It would be churlish to offer any criticism when most of the world would disagree. The immaculate production is by Jermaine Jackson, bank manager is Clive Davis and even the bathing suit on the back cover gets a credit. It is however, with all its slickness, an indispensable soul album

Beautiful album I listened to this cd since I was 8 years old. 21 years later, I still listened to this album. As far as I love her second album, "Whitney", this is cd is better than all her new materials of the millenium. Because this album is great, it brings me back to my childhood memories. My favorite songs are with her duet with Jermaine Jackson on "Take Good Care of my Heart" and "Nobody Loves Me Like You Do". Also, her duet with Teddy Pendegrass on "Hold Me". Last, my ultimate favorite song is "All At Once". There are no words to describe how beautifully melismatic her voice sounds in every song she sung. It's just beautiful. Excellent Debut Album This album is great. It is especially great because Whitney is new talent. New talent making an album like this is very acceptional. Whitney is a very good singer and recording artist in her right. This album will be cherished as the greatest album of the 1986s. A great album from a great artist. Whitney better get this one for their collection. Submitted by jejr9 (Irvine) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Her 1st hottest album!! This is a great album. It contains some of her first known songs on it, such as "How Will I Know?", "Saving All My Love For You," and "Greatest Love of All." I have this album on LP and CD and she does really well singing it. For those of you who have not yet heard any of Whitney's music or do not yet have this set, please go buy this album. She will rock your world!!! Submitted by Matt (Macomb, IL, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 0 of 1 found this helpful.

Whitney Houston album
$9.79 All tracks have been digitally remastered using HDCD technology.
"Never Miss The Water," featuring Me'Shell NdegeOcello, was nominated for a 1997 Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal.
Chaka Khan's career through the 1996 release of Epiphany: The Best of Chaka Khan, Vol. 1 -- involving eight albums with Rufus and eight solo albums, along with assorted collaborations -- produced roughly 40 Top 40 R&B singles, not to mention dozens of undervalued album cuts. So it is clear that any one-disc attempt at wrapping up the highlights is bound to work more like a sampler than a true best-of. And though this release is given the "Vol. 1" tag, it remained without a sequel as late as 2005, when Reprise reissued it without altering the contents. Yet another frustration is that previously unreleased songs take the place of missing classics like "Sweet Thing," "Clouds," "Fate," "Close the Door," and "Stay." (That's just for starters.) ...

Whitney Houston's voice is a marvel of technical perfection. Equally at home with pop, R&B or Gospel, Houston exerts unprecedented control over her celebrated pipes, moving through a song like a graceful bird in flight. It is this quality that makes MY LOVE IS YOUR LOVE such a consistently satisfying work. With a talent like hers, there's no need for Houston to stick to any one formula, so MY LOVE is all over the stylistic map. There's a novel update of the rock & roll classic "Heartbreak Hotel" enlivened by guest appearances from Faith Evans and Kelly Price. There's the ...
