Positively emotional
I came in having remembered "La-la-la", "Didn't I" and maybe one or two others. After the second listen I found that those hits were just par for the course with these guys. There isn't a dud track on the whole album. They hang out on a plateau of smooth, uplifting, romantic and richly melodic soul. With the exception of the second track (which borrows a bit from the first IMHO), none of the tracks are samey.
I first listened with ears tuned to the '00s so a few of the tracks did sound just a bit rough occasionally (compared to modern, oft-boring perfection) but it's funny how that impression vanished in a hurry, turning into charm instead on subsequent listens.
Highly recommended, especially if you like the golden age of late '60s meodic hooks.

Totally Coool!!
This cd has ALL the songs I grew up listening to in my 20's. Man, does it bring back memories where the only thing you had to worry about was what club to go to.

The Best Delfonics CD Collection Currently Available
With 20 Remastered tracks, it has all of their big hits, most of their minor hits as well as some album favorites. Producer/arranger Thom Bell is the real star here, skillfully crafting a sound unique to The Delfonics in collaboration with William Hart, that would never be confused with the sound he would later craft for The Stylistics in collaboration with Linda Creed.
(The CD: "The Very Best Of The Delfonics" is an audiophile gold disc pressing of this same collection.)
If the producers want to improve this collection in the future, they could remove "Funny Feeling" and "Delfonics Theme", (a wasted 7 minutes), and add "He Don't Really Love You", "Start All Over Again", "I Gave To You", "Can You Remember" and "Everytime I See My Baby". (The last three can be found together on "The Delfonics: Love Songs" collection CD.)

Delfonics & Thom Bell....good as it gets!
If you like old school groove...I mean real singing talent, this is the CD to buy."La La Means I Love You" is timeless. Too bad "Alfie" was left out, but nonetheless a brilliant collection of songs. A showcase of the talents of the Delfonics combined with the genius of producer Thom Bell. Pop it into your CD player and just chill.
