Human started to break Death to a wider audience, after Chuck Schuldiner nearly disbanded the group. Schuldiner's playing has improved immensely since Scream Bloody Gore, as have his compositional skills. He writes strange, dissonant, harmonized guitar lines and is one of the few death metal songwriters who changes moods and textures over the course of an album; Human's second half is actually almost subdued by death metal standards. ~ Steve Huey

Best Death Metal Album EVER !! For me this is the most important metal album ever ! Incredibly heavy, this guys are just smashing your ears with intelligent Death Metal. Great Riffs, great lyrics. Later Death seems to play more jazz (yeah... sound strange) but not on HUMAN. Nothing remains the same after you hear this one !!!! Submitted by irminzar (Las Vegas, NV, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Death metal of the gods! If you were to make a list of the ten or fifteen most important albums in metal, this one would be up there. Its intracacies and technical prowess broke new ground for death metal when it was released. 15 years later it still holds up, sounding perhaps even better now. The soloing is amazing, Chuck was definitely distinguishing himself as a talented and creative guitarist here. The rhythm section destroys, with Sean Reinert combining death metal double bass with impressive jazz chops while Steve DiGiorgio goes nuts on his fretless bass. However, the two complaints I have on the album concern the rhythm section: the bass is way too low in the mix, mostly inaudible, and the snare drum is somewhat weak. Let's not forget Paul Masvidal, who plays Chuck's mind-numbingly technical riffs with dexterity, in addition to pulling off some tasteful solos reminiscent of fusion. What really makes this album so great, though, is that it's pure death metal; this will really send your head banging. However, it's fiercely creative, challenging, melodic, and thought-provoking as well.
If you have even the most remote interest in death metal, start here and buy this now! Submitted by mcsavage6 (Pittsburgh, PA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
They were legends... Ever since i heard Spiritual Helaing's "Living Monstrosity" i was obsessed with the band and, since i met the band in '91 i have never been so priveliged to have met such an awesome team of talented musicians.
Overall 'Human' is one of the greatest metal albums of all time along with 'Leprosy' (which is the album that got me into them.
It will take some immense talent to beat this band in future and await any one who thinks theyre good enough...!Also, Chuck's spirit never died, as long as you keep playing his music, he will always be remembered... The most important album in death metal The 4th Death album is a landmark, not only for the band but for the genre itself.Having already set the standard,Chuck Schuldiner not only raised the bar,he pushed the envelope to breaking point! Chuck always had fine company, but this death metal supergroup is my personal favourite line-up.What I find different with "Human" from the other Death albums (&I love them all),is that it's the only one that always leaves me wanting more (not just 'cos it's the shortest in length).A true classic, and a testimony to the brilliance of the great man that was Chuck, god rest his soul. This is the album that really inspired my own playing style, and continues to this day. Human
$12.89 Words cannot do this album enough justice. This is a truly glorious metal release, certainly Death's finest hour, and easily one of the top metal albums of all time. The sheer ferocity and emotion that channels through each of the intricate, progressive guitar melodies shatters every low opinion of the American metal scene. When you combine Chuck Schuldiner's shrieking vocals (his eeriest performance ever) with the most talented, cohesive lineup yet, you get the definitive Death album. This album delicately mixes the best aspects of past albums Human, Individual Thought Patterns, and Symbolic and takes them one step further. The album is more aggressive, more progressive, and certainly more melodic. Therefore, when opener "Scavenger of Human Sorrow" kicks ...

| | Grace Chapel Boise Worship Band & Friends Stronger Than Life CD (2007)
Human
$13.15 Stronger Than Life is the latest album by Grace Chapel Boise Worship Band & Friends. It is a blossom of contemporary worship sounds and styles. The album contains 10 fresh and original worship songs written by Mary and Chris Meade. From hard hitting electric guitars and power vocals, to intimate expressions of God's grace and healing touch, this album captures the essence of what God is doing in the lives of many people. These songs were written in such a way that they could be easily reproduced in any congregation and used by any worship team. Two of the songs are Christmas congregational worship songs. Friends from Boise, Tucson and Nashville joined in and added their talent. This project is engineered by Scott Pergande (TheMixHouse.com) and mastered by Nashville's, Ken Love of (MasterMix.com).Grace Chapel Worship Band and Friends is led by the songwriting team of Mary and Chris Meade. Both Mary and Chris are seasoned worship leaders and musicians and are part of WorshipAlive.comChris is the founding and lead pastor of GraceChape.com, a vibrant, intergenerational and multicultural church located in Boise, Idaho. Mary is the worship pastor. Together, they have over 40 worship songs listed with CCLI. They are currently are in the process of writing and recording a ourth original worship album.Says Mary Meade:As far back as I can remember, I knew I wanted to learn to play the piano and sing. I graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree with a piano teaching emphasis. I soon started teaching private piano lessons and I still teach today. During the last couple years of college, through a series of happenings, I finally learned what it meant to have a relationship with Jesus Christ and I gave my life to Him. From that point on, it was evident to me why I had such a strong desire to learn everything I could about music.I started writing songs for worship almost immediately after becoming a follower of Jesus. Most of the songs I wrote were shaped from the different things that I was experiencing and learning. In 1984 I met a very special friend, Chris Meade, my co-partner in song writing. We became friends almost immediately and begin writing worship songs together. We were married and eventually moved to Tucson to be a part of Grace Chapel. After being in Tucson for about five years, we felt like God was calling us to plant a church in a capitol city and we ended up in Boise, Idaho where we started Grace Chapel Boise. I’ve been leading worship and writing worship songs for our congregation for fourteen years along with my husband Chris, the lead pastor of Grace Chapel.com.What a privilege it is and has been to be a mouthpiece for our congregation and to be able to express the many wonders God has done in each of us and to be able to express those wonders through the vehicle of writing worship songs. My prayer is that as you learn these songs, they’ll be more than just songs to you, but that you will be inspired to live the songs! Says Chris Meade:I too, like Mary was introduced into a family culture of music at a very early age. I began playing piano as a child. Later, I began playing the guitar and writing songs. I was a part of many rock and jazz-fusion bands. I, like many of my friends in those days, wanted to be a “rock star.” So, at 19, I moved to San Diego, California to try and make it in the music business as guitarist in the club scene. It was in the summer of 1982 that a friend slipped me a cassette tape of a Christian band. I had never heard anything quite like it. ...
