Two Classic Albums On One Disc
Personnel: Roger Miret (vocals); Alex Kinon, Vinnie Stigma (guitar). Recording information: Demo Studios; System II, Brooklyn, NY. For a quick introduction to classic, New York-styled hardcore, it doesn't get much better than this release, which combines Agnostic Front's two finest albums onto one disc. Hearing these gems back to back, even if in reverse chronological order, one can clearly understand why the band came to epitomize the term hardcore. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia

Unknown Contributor Role: Michael Bishop . GWAR continues to prove that no subject is too crude, no form of typified rape too base to relate in their relentless jaunt to use dramatic excess and heavy metal riffs for global domination. While We Kill Everything is not up to their earlier titles, especially Hell-O, Scumdogs of the Universe, and America Must Be Destroyed, it's still a fine continuation of a Spinal Tap-like heavy metal joke but with the added bonus of cooler costumes and monsters from outer space. ~ Tom Schulte Heavy metal novelty act or harbingers of Armageddon? Either way, Gwar is here and here to stay. After being imprisoned on earth, specifically Antarctica, the band was freed by Capitalist Records executive Sleazy P. Martini and turned into a rock band. WE KILL EVERYTHING continues Gwar's onslaught. Drawing influences from Black Sabbath, Alice Cooper, and Twisted Sister, the band stays true to its tongue-in-cheek metal and over-the-top image. The punky "Baby Raper" opens the album. "The Performer" has a piano intro where vocalist Oderus Urungus proclaims "I'll come to town for you, dress up like a clown for you, pull my pants down for you, then I'll crawl away," as the accelerates ...

| | AC Stiff Upper Lip CD (2001)
Cause For Alarm/Victim In Pain
$9.09 Live Recording
AC/DC: Brian Johnson (vocals); Angus Young, Malcolm Young (guitar); Cliff Williams (bass); Phil Rudd (drums). Recorded at The Warehouse Studio, Vancouver, British Colombia, Canada. Includes bonus disc featuring live performances and 3 videos. Proof positive that geezers can rock, this two-hour video of a single gig recorded in June 2001 at the Olympia Stadium in Munich captures the veteran (and aging -- most of the bandmembers were in their mid- to late forties at the time) Australian rockers in fine fettle. Expertly produced and shot, the band runs through its rousing hits with manic intensity, making most other arena rockers look anemic in comparison. The lead tag-team duo of singer Brian Johnson and guitarist Angus Young never stop crisscrossing the enormous stage, using a long ramp through the middle of the arena and various elevators to bring the music closer to the audience. A mammoth, nearly comic statue of Young remains center stage ...

Cause For Alarm/Victim In Pain
$12.19 The San Francisco neo-prog-rockers' guitar-heavy second album (their first, self-titled release was a limited edition of 500 copies) is rooted in the sounds of the early 1970s. Tracks such as "The Chocolate Maiden," with its ethereal, wordless vocals and Eastern ambience, and the ferocious, effects-laden "D Brown" are a fruitful collision of MORE-era Pink Floyd and some of the more monolithic-sounding denizens of late-period West Coast psychedelia. Straight out of San Francisco erupt Assemble Head in Sunburst ...
