Styx II album for sale Product Description
Styx II album for sale by Styx was released Oct 23, 1990 on the RCA label. Styx's second album marked the first recorded appearance of their signature song "Lady." The song was the original power ballad, the tune that would break the group through to a national audience. It didn't happen right away, though, as STYX II was something of a sleeper. | GOOD ALBUM Not for the classic STYX fan. Their music was much different before Tommy Shaw. A Day is a meandering psychadelic piece that is very different from the STYX most know, but if you are open to it, it's a nice tune. No real weaknesses on the album, just nothing super exciting... With the exception of LADY. LADY was a song before it's time and earns the album an extra star. Casual STYX fans buy Greatest Hits-It has Lady (rerecorded in 1995 with Tommy Shaw and Todd Sucherman) plus a plethora of other great STYX material. If you are a STYX historian/Hardcore Stygian want this one. Casual fans who want the original (with John Curulewski and John Pannozzo) might try this album, Best Of Styx, or Lady. (There are several albums with the Lady name that contain the song. One is actually a re-release of this very album and is much easier to find!) By a reviewer (SLC baby!) |
| STYX II STYX at their finest, before Tommy Shaw. "nothing beats an original". By whitehistorymonth (THE UNITED STATES of AMERICA) |
