Greatest Christmas Songs
$6.09 Popular songs are often associated with the vocalists that made them famous but few artists actually have the distinction of having a "theme" song along the lines of Bob Hope with "Thanks for the Memories." Even fewer can claim to have two theme songs attached to them and Andy Williams is one of those fortunate stars. After "Moon River" became forever linked to Williams, he recorded a holiday song for his first Christmas album that gave him a yuletide hit and theme song. "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year" was the right song at the right ...

Unknown Contributor Roles: Trevor Morais; Gerard Navarro. Following the Holy Smoke tour, the Hundred Men disbanded, with only Statham remaining as Murphy's main songwriting partner. Along with the help of producer Pascal Gabriel and some good session players, including extra "infinite guitar" from cult musician Michael Brook, Murphy created the marvelous Cascade. Another step further up in Murphy's continuing embrace of generally positive, inspiring work, Cascade shows him once again not repeating himself, aside perhaps from the sprightly, acoustic guitar-led "The Scarlet Thing in You." Otherwise, the music this time is generally lush and electronic, ...

| | Babes In Toyland Spanking Machine CD (1989)
Greatest Christmas Songs
$9.89 Babes In Toyland: Kat Bjelland (guitar, vocals); Michelle Leon (bass); Lori Barbero (drums, vocals). Recorded at Reciprocal Studio, Seattle, Washington. All songs written by Babes In Toyland. Personnel: Kat Bjelland (vocals, guitar); Lori Barbero (vocals, drums). Audio Mixer: Jack Endino. Recording information: Reciprocal Recording, Seattle, WA; Reciprocal Studio, Seattle, WA. Before the terms "grunge" and "riot grrl" entered the pop-culture lexicon during the early 1990s, the Minneapolis all-female trio of Babes in Toyland incorporated trademarks of both into its fierce, punk-inspired sound, which was first unveiled on '89's SPANKING MACHINE. Fronted by singer/guitarist Kat Bjelland, who often dressed like a mangled baby doll, the group was unapologetically noisy and vulgar, as the barbed opener, "Swamp Pussy," and the violent "Vomit Heart" clearly reveal. Helmed by the revered Seattle-based producer Jack Endino, who worked on Nirvana's BLEACH the same year, MACHINE retained the punch of Babes in Toyland's live performances, and established Bjelland and company as a force to be reckoned with, particularly on pounding tracks such as "Lashes" and "Dust Cake Boy." Although arguably topped by Babes in Toyland's '92 major-label debut, FONTANELLE, SPANKING MACHINE placed the band loudly on the musical map. Courtney Love was briefly a member of Babes in Toyland in the mid-'80s, and listening ...
