(2 Customer Reviews)
Producers: Bob Ringe, John Boyland. Compilation producer: Paul Williams. Includes liner notes by Joseph F. Laredo. All tracks have been digitally remastered. Liner Note Author: Joseph F. Laredo. RCA's 1999 compilation Greatest Hits is the definitive portrait of Pure Prairie League at their peak. Although it contains none of their Casablanca recordings, and therefore it's missing their biggest hit, "Let Me Love You Tonight," it does have a comprehensive chronicle of the group's first four albums, including their breakthrough hit "Amie," the non-LP "She Darked the Sun," and nearly all of their best album, Bustin' Out, albeit not in sequence. It would have been nice to have "Let Me Love You Tonight" added to this collection, but it's hard to argue with what's here, since it is the best of the best years of Pure Prairie League. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine Pure Prairie League Greatest Hits Songs Greatest Hits Music Review Purchase Greatest Hits CD To buy, Click on price to add to cart | Poco Forgotten Trail (1969-74) CDs (1990)

Includes liner notes by Richie Unterberger. American Flyer has long been a favorite of singer/songwriter, L.A. country-rock, and '70s soft rock aficionados, partially because of the group's supergroup status, but chiefly because the music they made was very, very good. That pedigree was indeed impressive, with the four members consisting of former Pure Prairie League member Craig Fuller, Eric Kaz of the Blues Magoos, Doug Yule of the Velvet Underground, and Steve ...

If one needs a starting point for the band's fierce, funny assault on any level of complacency imaginable, Give Me Convenience is indeed as convenient as it gets. Focusing for the most part on non-album cuts or various rarities, it appeals to hardcore Dead Kennedys fans as well as neophytes. The collection ...

The Swedish techno band's 2006 release contains their swirling "Ritual Noise" single, as well as the sweet, Kraftwerk-influenced "Happy Man," the menacing, erotic "Sweet & Salty," whose vocals benefit from Eskil Simonsson's perfect, frosty Euro-inflections, and the trance-like "Greater Than the Sun." Masters of the slow build, these icy dance clinicians also show their chill-out skills on the Vangelis-like electro-boogie of "20HZ" and the sedate, mournful "The World Is Growing Loud."
