Original music composed by Richard Rodgers. Lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II.
The blockbuster film starring Mitzi Gaynor, Rossano Brazzi and John Kerr spawned this record-breaking album full of some of Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II's most popular songs. Opera singer Giorgio Tozzi dubbed for Brazzi's singing voice on the beautiful 'Some Enchanted Evening' and others, but Mitzi Gaynor provided her own vocals on songs such as the famous 'I'm Gonna Wash That Man Right Outa My Hair', 'I'm In Love With A Wonderful Guy', and the delightful 'Honey Bun'. The statistics are frightening - USA: 161 weeks in the chart, 31 of them at number 1; UK: a total of 115 weeks at number 1, 70 of them consecutively. The UK figures are (to date) a record.
All tracks have been digitally remastered.

South Pacific Soundtrack songs
$10.39 (MP3 Available for Download) Music composed by Frederick Lowe. Lyrics written by Alan J. Lerner.
Camelot, a musical based on the Arthurian legend, reunited most of the creative talent that produced My Fair Lady, including lyricist/librettist Alan Jay Lerner, composer Frederick Loewe, and leading lady Julie Andrews. Lerner had once again found a story that conformed to his favorite theme, a romantic triangle involving an older man, a younger woman, and an ardent suitor. As with My Fair Lady and his and Loewe's recent movie musical Gigi, the older man was played by a distinguished actor not known for his singing, in this case Richard Burton, who was making his musical comedy debut. Loewe wrote some melodies of limited range for Burton, but he proved to be a much more accomplished singer than his predecessors, Rex Harrison and Louis Jourdan, ...

South Pacific Soundtrack album
$8.95 Coming along in the summer of 1962, four and a half years after the Broadway opening, the film version of The Music Man appeared in an era when Hollywood was more likely to be faithful to stage musicals, rather than dramatically altering them, as had been the practice in the past. The Music Man found Robert Preston re-creating his starring role as conman Professor Harold Hill, intent on swindling the good people of River City, IA, by selling them on a fictitious boys' band, and some minor roles were also filled by the Broadway ...

South Pacific Soundtrack MP3 Album
$8.85 Music composed by Richard Rodgers. Lyrics written by Oscar Hammerstein II.
Digitally remastered by Darcy M. Proper, Jen Wyler (Sony Music Studios, New York, New York).
Considered by many to be an improvement on the original cast album that followed the show's 1951 Broadway production, this record features the unmistakable tones of the definitive "King," Yul Brynner, but his co-star Deborah Kerr's singing voice is skillfully dubbed by one of the undisputed mistresses of that art, Marni Nixon. It is difficult to spot the point at which Kerr stops speaking and Nixon begins singing on lovely songs such as "Shall We Dance?" and "Getting To Know You," but after listening to the score again on the 1993 CD reissue, it is easy to understand the album's long tenure in the UK (103 weeks) and US (178 weeks) bestsellers lists.

$11.69 Music composed by Richard Rodgers. Lyrics written by Oscar Hammerstein II.

Recorded on May 11, 16 and 21, 1945. Originally released on Decca (DA 400). Includes liner notes by Max O. Preeo.
Decca Records scored a significant commercial success with its album of songs from Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II's first musical, Oklahoma!, performed by members of the original cast. So, the label was interested in releasing a similar recording of the songwriters' next musical, Carousel. The new show was a darker effort than Oklahoma!, based on the tragic play Liliom, even though Hammerstein had the two ...
