ELV1S: 30 # 1 Hits CD (2002) Top Seller
Peace In The Valley: The Complete Gospel Recordings/I'll Be Home For Christmas songs Includes liner notes Peter Guralnick and Ernst Mikael Jorgensen.
Commemorating the 25th anniversary of Elvis Presley's death, 30 #1 HITS presents a career-spanning serving of the King's chart-toppers.
Dating back to "Heartbreak Hotel" (which was inspired by a suicide note printed in the Miami Herald), most of these cuts have become indelibly etched into the fabric of pop culture and each has a unique story behind it. "Love Me Tender" has its origins in the Civil War ballad "Aura Lee," "It's Now Or Never" found Elvis Americanizing the Neapolitan ballad "O Sole Mio," and "Wooden Heart" likewise was converted from a German children's song.
This Memphis native's choice of artists to cover was equally intriguing and includes Hollywood legend Al Jolson ("Are You Lonesome Tonight?"), New Orleans soul shouter Smiley Lewis ("One Night"), blues great Big Mama Thornton ("Hound Dog"), and country titan Hank Snow ("[Now And Then There's] A Fool Such As I"). Further testimony of Presley's long-lasting appeal is the inclusion of the JXL Radio Edit Remix of "A Little Less Conversation," a UK #1 that not only enabled Elvis to have more chart-toppers than The Beatles, but also became a hit in a number of other countries including the United States.
All tracks have been digitally remastered.

Blue Hawaii CD (1961) Top Seller
Peace In The Valley: The Complete Gospel Recordings/I'll Be Home For Christmas buy CD music This 1997 reissue of BLUE HAWAII is remixed and remastered from the original three-track master tapes and includes 8 extra tracks.
Elvis' theatrical ouevre found him portraying singing busboys, singing prizefighters, even a singing doctor in love with a nun, all of which makes his role as the heir to a pineapple fortune in "Blue Hawaii" sound positively prosaic. But Elvis and Hawaii were made for each other like Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, and "Blue Hawaii" became one of his most successful movies. The soundtrack was the No. 1 record in the U.S. for an astonishing 20 weeks, making it Elvis' most commercially successful LP, and one of the most successful LPs of all time.
Like most of Elvis' soundtracks, the album contains some real gems surrounded by some real dross. This 1997 reissue is remastered and remixed from the original master tapes, and includes several extra tracks. Amid such frivolities as "Rock-A-Hula Baby" (co-written by Ed Wood's girlfriend Dolores Fuller) are classic tracks like "Can't Help Falling In Love." The reissue adds the actual on-screen version of this prime Elvis ballad.
Recorded at Radio Recorders, Hollywood, California, in March 1961.
Personnel: Elvis Presley (vocals); Scotty Moore, Hank Garland, Tiny Timbrell (guitar); Alvino Rey (steel guitar); Fred Tavares, Bernie Lewis (ukelele); George Fields (harmonica); Boots Randolph (saxophone); Floyd Cramer (piano); Dudley Brooks (piano, celeste); Bob Moore (bass); D.J. Fontana, Hal Blaine, Bernie Mattinson (drums); The Jordanaires, The Surfers (background vocals).

Elvis Presley - He Touched Me: The Gospel Music of DVDs (2000) Top Seller
Peace In The Valley: The Complete Gospel Recordings/I'll Be Home For Christmas songs Elvis is known for being the King of Rock 'n Roll, but there was, in fact, a spiritual side to him. Some of his later pop hits were definitely tinged with a gospel feel, but on this amazing release, Elvis performs over thirty pure gospel songs. Along with beautifully moving performances, HE TOUCHED ME also provides insight into the King's life and personality. In interviews with friends, Elvis becomes a more fully formed man, emerging from the two-dimensional caricature that the general public will recognize.
This 2-DVD set features more than 30 of Elvis' gospel recordings and never-before-seen footage. This 3-hour collection, filled with personal stories by those who knew him well, goes behind the scene of Elvis' career. Discover how Elvis was dramatically influenced by two of southern gospel music's premiere quartets, the Statesmen and the Blackwood Brothers. Learn of the controversy surrounding his performance of "Peace in the Valley" on Ed Sullivan, more.

How Great Thou Art CD (1967) Top Seller
Peace In The Valley: The Complete Gospel Recordings/I'll Be Home For Christmas album for sale Elvis Presley won three Grammy awards during his lifetime, all for his gospel performances. The 1967 album HOW GREAT THOU ART, a collection of fourteen sacred songs drawn largely from the standards of the genre, was his third gospel recording and his first Grammy winner. While Presley's previous gospel album, 1960's HIS HAND IN MINE, stayed within the vocal quartet tradition Presley had loved as a child, HOW GREAT THOU ART places greater emphasis on Elvis' solo voice, framed by a larger church choir.
Friends and musical associates often remarked that Presley was happiest when singing gospel music. HOW GREAT THOU ART supports their claims; throughout the album, Presley sounds completely at ease with the material. The King's versatility serves him well here, as the material ranges from footstompers ("By and By") to sweet ballads ("Crying in the Chapel," "In the Garden") to the near-operatic title track and a similarly dramatic reading of "Where No One Stands Alone." The final track, "Peace In The Valley," was recorded for a 1957 gospel EP of the same title.
Arranger: Elvis Presley.
Personnel: Elvis Presley (vocals); The Jordanaires (vocals, background vocals); The Imperials Quartet (background vocals).
Recording information: 10/31/1960-02/22/1969.
