THANK YOU MR JAMES
This collection simply bristles with great blues tunes you have heard other folks cover. Recorded in the 50s and early 60s, Elmore James shows us where we came from. I first heard about James from a line in a Beatles song, and once again, the Brits helped introduce us to our own music. If you like Robert Johnson, you should have this album. From the Johnson cover, 'Dust My Broom' to 'Shake Your Moneymaker' and 'The Sky Is Crying', James combines Delta blues with the Chigago influence, and the result is magical.
An icon of his genre, and kept alive by artists today, Elmore James is a must have for every blues listener.
