Ordering from CD Universe My order was expedited in a timely fashion and was exactly what I wanted. I ordered the CD "We Are Family" to be used for a summer camp session at the University of Michigan. I also placed the same order with another company and that order has not yet arrived and I have not received any information from that company. In the future I will always order from CD Universe. They are on the ball and take care of business. By Bugsydiva8 (Auburn Hills, MI, USA)
Out Of Chaos, Pure Perfection In that time-honored tradition that informs the most brilliant and enduring music, it was rumored that Kathy and the girls were constantly at odds with producers Rogers and Edwards, hating the songs that eventually became Top 40 gold on both the pop and R&B charts. Luckily for them, the guys used the K.I.S.S. rule when crafting this album...Like Freddie Perren and Dino Fekaris, Albhy Galuten and Karl Richardson, then L.A. and Babyface and Jam and Lewis years afterward, the dynamic CHIC duo knew that the secret formula was indeed a simple one: if it ain't broke, don't fix it. The philosophy would work later on for The Divine Miss Ross, and it worked here for Sister Sledge. "We Are Family" is now a legendary anthem, and "He's The Greatest Dancer" evokes the lush simplicity and infectious hooks and rhythms that encompass everything that people came to love and loathe about disco dance music. How unfortunate, though, that those quintessential classics hogged the limelight, leaving almost no room for people to discover the high caliber of pop craftsmanship that Rogers and Edwards put into every song. Witness "Somebody Loves Me" and "You're A Friend To Me," one lament and one celebration that both cry out for attention, and at the very least, to be remade by artists who will do them justice and treat them with the same care that Kathy Sledge does here. For fans of disco, Chic, Sister Sledge or well-crafted Eighties tunes, this CD is yet another "must-have." By dcscribe (Arlington, VA)
Sounds Great After All These Years! Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards of Chic produced this masterpiece for Sister Sledge. Easily the groups best release and not a weak track on the CD. Unforgettable ballads and the uptempo tracks speak for themselves! Collectors item! By percyjohnson28269 (Charlotte NC, USA)
