| | Junkyardmen Keep On Workin' CD Junkyardmen Discography of CDs
Produced by Jim Gaines, this second album from the Memphis group follows strongly in the footsteps of their debut. Between Jesse Hoggard's down home guitar and Billy Gibson's harmonica, the group's sound is pure Memphis grit and muscle, amply fortified by the bass and drums of Kevin Sheahan and John Scalici. With everyone taking turns at the lead vocal chores and the wealth of original material, there's nary a boring moment to be found. With playing and writing this deep, we can only hope for more music of equal caliber from this promising new band. Highlights include "Arkansas Razorback," "Cadillac," "Tears," and "High and Dry." ~ Cub Koda
Brooklyn's Love Camp 7 has an instantly recognizable sound, part striking harmonies, part contrapuntal arrangements, part unexpected tempo changes. It's one of those bands that evokes past masters of psychedelic popâ€"Kinks, Love, Beach Boysâ€"without ever seeming retro or derivative.
Ives (congas, percussion).
Recorded at Inside Sounds Studio, Memphis, Tennessee in January 1999. Includes liner notes by Peter Read.
Junkyardmen: Jesse Hoggard (vocals, guitar); Billy Gibson (vocals, harmonica); John Scalici (vocals, drums); Kevin Sheahan (bass).

Down Beat (6/00, p.68) - 3 stars out of 5 - "...Jesse Hoggard's guitar lines accumulate real tension....Also plusses are the harmonica of Billy Gibson and the enthusiastic rhythm team..." Living Blues (1-2/00, p.102) - "...red-hot Memphis blues-rock....All the songs but one are band originals, and nearly all of them are mid-to-up tempo burners." Keep On Workin' music CDs
$14.29 WELCOME TO LITTLE MILTON was nominated for the 2000 Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Blues Album.
For his last album of the 20th century, soul/blues legend Little Milton gathered together a bunch of friends and admirers to cut 11 songs in a spirited meeting of old and new generations not heard since John Lee Hooker recorded THE HEALER 10 years prior.
In his more than 50 years in the music industry, Little Milton has earned accolades for his singing, but unfortunately his tasty guitar playing has often gotten overlooked. WELCOME rectifies this situation as Milton takes the lead on the Susan Tedeschi duet "Mother Earth," gets heavy with Warren Haynes and Gov't Mule on "I Can't Quit You Baby," and trades ...

$15.19 The hymns in this collection grew from an unexpected friendship. In the fall of 2001, Jim Clemens and David Wright met at Lombard Mennonite Church in Illinois, where Jim, for a number of years, had accompanied and written music for worship, and where his wife, Angie, served as choral conductor and song leader. They became part of the same fellowship group, and David became involved over time in the church choir.Jim and David began to meet regularly on Sunday mornings, skipping Sunday school to drink coffee and talk about music, Wendell Berry's poetry, and Monty Python films. To their delight, no one ever criticized this delinquent behavior, recognizing, perhaps, that these quirky and spirited conversations were necessary, at least for them. While they are quite different in some ways--Jim is fairly private and devoted to detail, David is avidly social and prone ...
