Bouncing back from the setback of Sacrilecious, the Supersuckers recorded their most ambitious album with Must've Been High. Using their garagey, post-hardcore punk as a launching pad, they delve deeply into country, even recording with Willie Nelson on one cut. Tellingly, the Supersuckers sound their best when they go for a snotty update of cowpunk -- compared with their metal and Stooges-obsessed contemporaries, the band sounds positively fresh with the little bit of twang. There are a couple of shaky moments, but overall, Must've Been High is an intoxicating concoction of fiery riffs, goofy humor and punk attitude. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine

Entertainment Weekly (4/11/97, p.85) - "Seattle's premier punk band abandon the familiar snarl and go country on their fifth release. Sweet vocals and acoustic guitars add down-home romace to the group's low-life-in-the-fast-lane obsessions..." - Rating: B+ Option (5-6/97, p.133) - "...kicking up some real countried dust and plucking, picking, strumming and sliding straight from the heart....a killer batch of mournful tunes....Supersuckers gone country are fun, fast, and uncomplicated..." Must've Been High music CDs
$12.95 Leave it to Robbie Fulks to unearth 13 mostly obscure masterworks by 13 mostly out-of-print country artists, update them with 13 bang-up recordings, and then boldly package the whole thing as 13 HILLBILLY GIANTS. Few artists have made tribute albums that so brazenly display their erudition while so clearly demonstrating their mastery of a genre.
Fulks' ebullient covers of Frankie Miller's "Family Man" and Jimmy Murphy's "We Live a Long Time to Get Old" will undoubtedly send country enthusiasts on long (and probably fruitless) searches for the original recordings. Likewise, fans of country ...
| | DJ X Use Your Luv CD (2006)
Must've Been High songs
$6.39 There is a reason Dj X is known as the Southeast’s most innovative DJ. He has long broken the mold of simply being a Florida Breakbeat DJ/Producer. This 19-year veteran has made his mark in the underground music scene through mixing, producing, and turning out some of the hottest, non-stop dance-frenzied compilation CDs ever heard. On the heels of the phenomenal success of Club Experience Vol 3., Dj X has, once again, assembled another great mix of multi-faceted musical dance and trance mayhem that will, no doubt, tear up the charts. With nine previous full length CD compilations, Club Experience Vol. 4 is Dj X’s 10th compilation released worldwide and is due to hit the streets with much anticipation on June 6, 2006. The new CD not only features 5 new exclusive tracks but also the year’s hottest Trance anthem from TIESTO, “Just Be” featuring Kirsty Hawkshaw, remixed by Billboard charting producers Antillas. Reaching overseas, Dj X has recruited the breakbeat talents of Deekline and Ed Solo along with the Rasta sounds of the UK’s Dreadzone. If you’re looking for this year’s smash House record, then look no further than “What You Won’t Do For Love,” Dj X and Big3 labelmate Jon Secada’s reworking of the Bobby Caldwell classic. This rare X/Secada collaboration centers on Jon’s smooth-as-silk vocals and a piano riff which will stay with you long after the music ends. This incredible collection also includes “Inspiration,” the latest smash track from Ian VanDahl. From the studios of renowned UK producers The Breakfastaz, “Inspiration” is set to climb even higher chart heights than Ian’s previous hit, “Castles in the Sky.” In true Dj X fashion, artistically motivated dance vocalist Plummet is included in the mix. Following the success of club hits “Damaged” and “Cherish The Day,” Dj X and Plummet once again team up to breathe new life and a distinct club vibe into Paul Simon’s “50 Ways to Leave Your Lover,” featuring a mix by CS Jay. A native of New York, Dj X is today a resident of sunny Florida. Not only an established artist, DJ, producer, and remix master, Dj X is also an entrepreneur as the owner and operator of Florida-based Xquizit Records, Inc. (www.XquizitRecords.com), a record label known for "putting funky breakz on the map." In addition, he also founded and heads-up a sister label to the breaks scene entitled "The Eastern Breakz Movement" and launched the web site www.theEBM.com. Dj X, with the accompaniment of other artists on the labels and remixes, is responsible for more than fifty 12" vinyl releases between the Xquizit Records and The EBM ...
