Originally released as two separate albums. Contains two bonus tracks not included on the original releases.
Thank Heaven for Little Girls and Sugarfix were the last two records the Dwarves put out for Sub Pop just before the band was dropped for pulling an infamous and perhaps tasteless hoax involving the alleged death of their guitarist. Sub Pop later re-released both records on one CD, along with a pair of bonus tracks, all totaling about 41 minutes of relentlessly trashy punk. ~ Andy Hinds

| | Swingin Utters Streets Of San Francisco CD (1995)
Sugarfix/Thank Heaven For Little Girls album
$6.69 Old school slams straight into the new school on Swingin' Utters' debut album, reissued by Fat Wreck Chords. The quintet hails from Santa Cruz, but they relocated north, thus the title, The Streets of San Francisco. Combining the taut, melodic edge of the Clash and the anthemic quality of Sham 69 with a hint of the Sex Pistols and nods to Stiff Little Fingers, the album may be rife with influences, but is still potent with potential. Less nihilistic than their predecessors, Swingin' Utters' world view tends more toward the fatalistic. On songs like "Teenage Genocide," "Tied Down, Spit On," and most impressively, "Storybook Disease," the group struggles with the modern world and people's inability to get it or themselves right. The music walks a wondrously ...
| | Glenn Branca Ascension CD (1981)
Sugarfix/Thank Heaven For Little Girls CD music
$11.59 This is an Enhanced disc, which contains both regular audio tracks and multimedia computer files.
In 1981, Glen Branca recorded a four-guitar symphony that reached peaks of transcendent beauty and lows of challenging shrillness. It was a work that in many ways changed the face of experimental music, and reintroduced clanging noise as a pop concept. The 2003 Acute Records reissue should only serve to hammer that point home. ASCENSION's five tracks are all odd and brilliant in their own way: "The Spectacular Commodity," for example, is 12 minutes long and almost operatic at points. "Lesson Number 2" is likewise orchestral in scope, and the title track is a sheer assault ...
| | Skygreen Leopards Life And Love In Sparrow's Meadow CD (2005)
Sugarfix/Thank Heaven For Little Girls music CDs
$12.49 The Skygreen Leopards' fourth album since their inception is also their first for Jagjaguwar and a beautiful (if somewhat disorienting) example of folk-pop from the "new weird America" underground. Donovan Quinn (Verdure) and Glenn Donaldson (the Birdtree, Thuja, and several other projects) have matching voices, instrumentarium, and dreams. Life & Love in Sparrow's Meadow is all about simple folk guitar playing, unpretentious acoustic arrangements, a measured touch of amateurism, strangely psychedelic lyrics (the song titles give a good idea of their nature), and melodies that, without being marked by songwriting genius, refuse to be easily forgotten. This album packs 11 songs (including a three-part suite) within 34 minutes, and often ...
