VOICES IN LOVE originally released on Capitol (1074). LOVE LOST originally released on Capitol (1189).
If love is a thing of stormy passion, and agonizing heartaches, the 24 songs of romance and heartbreak contained herein, bring out the softer more enjoyable side of romance. The Four Freshmen take these songs and harmonize away all the rough edges with their legato flow. The ballads are treasures of American music. The first 12 tracks were originally released in 1958, and are comprised of "they're playing our song"-type-music. Think slow dancing embracing, moonlight, hearts and flowers. The violins soft presence on these numbers only add to the waves of amorous vocals, as on "Out Of Nowhere".
"Love Lost," the 2nd album reissued here has the Freshmen lending their mellow voices to equally tender songs that, however sad, are extremely catchy. Popular pieces like "Little Girl Blue" may seem dated with the Four Freshmen's quintessential 1950's sound, but it captures a timeless beauty and romance.

| Voices In Love/Love Lost Music Review Average Rating: (5 out of 5 stars) The Four Freshmen , a unique sound. This CD is a repress of some of the best love songs around. The Freshmen handled it great when it was originally recorded and it is just as great today as it was on that day. Listen to "I'll Never Smile Again" and realize Sinatra made it famous with Tommy Dorsey but that it will last forever because the Freshmen recorded it. Very beautiful, lush, romantic, and crooner style. I really like this twofer.
Both albums are very lush, romantic and crooner style that if you like the romantic side of Sinatra, Como, Cole, Bennett, Martin, Jones, etc..... you should really like this. The strings are wonderful which makes these two lp's very lush and romantic.
And every song is great, I never have to skip one to get to the next. They all usually pretty much create a similar mood to each other, kinda like the Jackie Gleason romantic lp's where all the songs have the same style and sound, yet it never gets dull or boring, rather, the romantic lushness grows on you more with each song.
Songs like THE GAL THAT GOT AWAY, I'LL REMEMBER APRIL, WHILE YOU ARE GONE, IF I EVER LOVE AGAIN, IN THE STILL OF THE NIGHT, I'M ALWAYS CHASING RAINBOWS, and every other song are just beautiful.
If you like the romantic crooner stuff, then this is fully recommended to you. One of my favorites.

$12.15 Formed in 2002 by veterans of the Seattle Music Scene, ZERO DOWN was created to hybrid the metal riffs of the NWOBM, the classic feel of 70’s Hard Rock, and the attitude of 80’s Punk Rock. Their new release, “Old Time Revival†brings all this and more. LOUD, PROUD & EVIL!! PRESS REVIEWSVery exciting band out of Seattle. A little Queens of the Stone Age, a little hardcore, but with the metal riffs of Clutch. Extremely catchy, highly pro, ten track, 33 minute digi-pack. Zero Down should be signed now! Not just because they're good, but because they could sell a lot of records! Martin Popoff, BWBK Magazine Knuckle Tracks Issue #93This relatively new Seattle band certainly sound like grizzled veterans on this debut CD, boasting ten fiery, old school heavy metal anthems delivered with a hardcore energy and a punk rock attitude. Equal parts Supersuckers, Motörhead and AC/DC, with tantalising hints of AFI, ‘90s Metallica, Megadeth, Ramones, Danzig, ...
