Clive Barker's feature directing debut graphically depicts the tale of a man and wife who move into an old house and discover a hideous creature--the man's half-brother, who is also the woman's former lover--hiding upstairs. Having lost his earthly body to a trio of S&M demons called the Cenobites, he is brought back into existence by a drop of blood on the floor. He soon forces his former mistress to bring him human sacrifices to complete his body... but the Cenobites won't be happy about this. One of the best horror films of the 1980s, HELLRAISER is based on Barker's novel THE HELLBOUND HEART and was followed by three sequels. Novelist Clive Barker made his directorial debut with "Hellraiser."

Clive Barker with his directorial debut introduces a whole new breed of malevolence. The Cenobites are introduced to us for the first time in this adaptation from his short story "The Hellbound Heart." They are the personification of evil, their eyes lack any emotion & are as black as their hearts. They fit in perfectly with the sadness & indifference the film has throughout (both characters & scenary). A classic in Horror film lore.

Yeah this is a 'must-have' for sure
Have seen it on cable several times, and I still was blown away by the DVD presentation.
If you like horror movies, and you don't own this one, then put the universe back in balance and order it today.

Ever since I collected the action figure of Pinhead, I then saw the first movie with Pinhead. It was pretty gorey, but it was awesome. If you're into movies like The Exorsist or The Omen then I recommend that you wath this film.
