"Jones' biting strat, his airtight band and danceable ham-fisted blues capture a goodtime spontaneity" - Guitar Player Magazine. This is "live and loose" barroom blues. Uncut, unsensored, and full of between song chatter. Maybe there should have been some editing done, but what the hell. Mama said there would be nights like this.

Have Mercy-Live! songs
$11.99 The Capitol Steps have been one of the most consistently funny groups to do musical parodies since they released their first CD in 1984. Not only do they have gifted writers, but each of the singers proves to be effective mimics. Political targets are their specialty, especially the hilarious "Hang Down Your Head, Tom Daschle," the opera spoof "Toricelli," Senator Trent Lott ("It's Not Easy Being White"), "Condoleezza" (sung to "Mona Lisa"), and the sidesplitting duet of "You Don't Bring Me Flowers" by Palestinian leader Yassir Arafat and Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon.
But topics of ...
| | Jon Oliva Tage Mahal CD (2005)
Have Mercy-Live! album
$15.15 Tage Mahal is the first album from Jon Oliva's Pain -- just one of the numerous side projects helmed by the American metal legend outside the scope of his primary vehicle Savatage. But unlike his work with, say, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, there are really no radical differences between Savatage and the dramatic piano-led heavy metal of Pain -- only a slightly darker, more gothic tone, perhaps. In fact, one almost gets the feeling that Tage Mahal could very well have been a Savatage release if the members of that band didn't live so far apart from each other, while the crack heavy metal studio unit enlisted to perform on Pain (and also responsible for vocalist Zachary Stevens' Circle II Circle project) happened to reside in Oliva's hometown. Not that it really matters, since Oliva is talented and prolific enough as a writer to use his patented, Savatage-tested hard rock and metal as a launching pad for ...
| | Siouxsie & The Banshees Twice Upon A Time - The Singles CD (1981) (Import) Digipak; United Kingdom
Have Mercy-Live! CD music
$11.39 Recorded between 1978 & 1981. Includes liner notes by Paul Morley.
If you're searching for a concise, straight to the point overview of the early singles by goth rock innovators Siouxse & the Banshees, then their ten track compilation from 1981 (released right around the same time as their classic fourth studio album, JUJU), ONCE UPON A TIME: THE SINGLES, is highly recommended. Although they were never considered a singles band in the U.S. (they barely ever got beyond cult status in the U.S.), Siouxse & the Banshees were one of the top alternative/new wave bands of the early 80's back in their homeland of England, where they racked up a decent amount of hit singles early in their career, all of which are included here. Included are such goth classics as the album opening "Hong Kong Garden," "Happy House," "Christine," and "Spellbound," to name but a few. Along with its follow up collection, 1992's TWICE UPON ...
