5 stars Beautiful !
This is the most beautiful recording ever made of Rachmaninoff 3rd concerto. Even Rachmaninoff used to say that Horowitz played this concerto better than himself !!

2 stars Rather old fashioned
This C.D. was acquired as a replacement for the Ashkenazy recording of the concerto No.3 and it varies from disappointing to terrible in places. The tone is poor and there are shocking liberties with the tempo which used to be common in the first half of the 20th. century
