Together Again/My Heart Skips a Beat album for sale Product Description
Together Again/My Heart Skips a Beat album for sale by Buck Owens was released Mar 27, 2012 on the Sundazed label. If you wanted to give someone the quintessential Bakersfield honky-tonk country album (that wasn't a Merle Haggard album), THIS would be it. The beat, strong yet possessed of a near-shuffle-type groove, the chilling harmonies, the weeping pedal steel, the terse twang of the guitars and Owens' expressive singing combine with memorable originals and classic covers ("Close Up the Honky Tonks," "Truck Drivin' Man," "A-11") and a countrified take on the Drifters' "Save the Last Dance for Me" comprise a country music album classic. Together Again/My Heart Skips a Beat CD music contains a single disc with 14 songs. ...See Full Description

| Buck at his best I realize that the label has added two cuts to this album tath were not originally on it, but even without those great songs it is simply hard to beleive that all of these great songs were released on one album. By smitty19582002 (Zanesville. OH) |

Instrumental Hits of Buck Owens & His Buckaroos CD (1965)
Together Again/My Heart Skips a Beat buy CD music Buck gives his voice a rest and gives his band a chance to shine with this set of all-instrumental originals (the jangly "Buckaroo") and country standards ("Orange Blossom Special," "Faded Love"). Sharp, fast and crystalline playing is on the menu, and you'll be going back for seconds, as these cats have mastered a becoming-scarce art of playing: say what you have to say and move on. No noodling/doodling for these guys, no indeed. The guitars twang, the drums snap, the pedal steel swings & swells, the fiddle cuts to the heart, the tempos alternate between leisurely & almost-manic. Recorded in 1963-65 and does not sound dated at all. Country music's answer to the Ventures! Two Thumbs Up!

I've Got a Tiger by the Tail CD (1965)
Together Again/My Heart Skips a Beat CD music Buck Owens had his share of country hits prior to the release of I've Got a Tiger by the Tail and the hit single that spawned it. But "I've Got a Tiger by the Tail" was Owens' national breakthrough, featuring everything right about his Bakersfield honky tonk sound sweated down to a 2:12 single that proved to be a irresistible piece of crossover magic to non-country fans without diluting his basic sound one iota. This 14-track CD reissue brings together the original Capitol tracks from that album (which also included the hit "Cryin' Time," later to be a crossover hit of its own when recorded by Ray Charles), along with two bonus tracks. These are live versions recorded in Bakersfield at the Civic Auditorium in October 1963 of "This Ol' Heart" and "Act Naturally," taken from the Capitol anthology album Country Music Hootenanny. The sound of Don Rich is all over this album, with his signature biting Telecaster guitar style, plus his vocalizing on "Wham Bam" (which features Owens on lead guitar) and a feature with Buck on a duet of Chuck Berry's "Memphis." Bass player Doyle Holly handles the vocal chores on "Streets of Laredo," while Don Rich's fiddle work is highlighted on the instrumental "A Maiden's Prayer." But ultimately it's Owens' show with tracks like "Trouble and Me," "We're Gonna Let the Good Times Roll," "If You Fall Out of Love With Me," "The Band Keeps Playin' On," and the ballad "Let the Sad Times Roll On" being classic examples of Owens' Bakersfield honky tonk sound at the height of its freight-train rumbling powers. ~ Cub Koda

Buck Owens CD (1961)
Together Again/My Heart Skips a Beat album for sale This is a reissue of the FIRST Buck Owens album, recorded for Capitol in 1961. He'd yet to fully come into his own--the vocal influences of Ray Price and George Jones are easy to discern, and the Buckaroos' hard-driving twang and sturdy beat were yet-to-be. But the heart Owens puts into these songs--he wrote all but one--is singularly powerful and memorable. And this set includes three genuine country classics: "Under Your Spell Again," "Above and Beyond" and "Second Fiddle." To check out the beginnings of one of the best and most influential figures in country music, or just enjoy a fine, earthy, pop-free country album, this is well worth your time. A classic, anyway you look at it.
If you've worn out shoe leather trudging up and down the streets of Bakersfield looking for those classic 60s Buck Owens' albums, your search has come to an end, brother. I Don't Care CD (1964)
Together Again/My Heart Skips a Beat CD music The King of Bakersfield Country's back catalog from Capitol Records has been reissued by the kind folks at Sundazed, with original cover art and extra bonus songs. The brand of country Buck was doing in the early and mid-'60s was a bit at odds with Nashville--his music was heavy on the pedal steel guitar, had a strong beat, surging harmonies that lacked any trace of pop compromise and sharp, driving picking from his band. This set mixes honky-tonk angst (the title song and "Don't Let Her Know") with choice covers ("Dang Me," "Louisiana Man," "Understand Your Man"--with Buck doing a killer Johnny Cash impression!) and spiffy instrumentals ("Buck's Polka," "Bud's Bounce"). Honky-tonky heaven!!!
Buck Owens' career was in high enough gear by this point for this to be his third album for the year. The reason was simple- the hit status of the title track, which held the number one position on the country charts for six weeks. On this Sundazed release, the two bonus tracks feature instrumental versions of 'Don't Let Her Know' and the title track 'I Don't Care', both under the direction of Don Rich from the 1966 'Buck Owens Songbook' album. 1995.
