One of the most endearing of all Peanuts' specials finds Charlie Brown nurturing the thinnest, scraggliest Christmas tree ever. At first the gang makes fun of Charlie for choosing such an ugly tree for the holiday but a timely assist from Linus makes the true message of the season come shining through. Everyone realizes in the end that a little affection can make all the difference in the world... even to a tree. The Gift Set includes a Peanuts picture frame that can be used as a Christmas tree ornament.

"A Charlie Brown Christmas" was a winner of both Emmy and Peabody Awards. Charlie Brown Christmas Reviews: "It takes a tiny tree -- as wilted as Charlie Brown himself --to finally bring him happiness and cheer."
-- Melissa Rose Bernardin, Entertainment Weekly Charlie Brown Christmas Video Charlie Brown Christmas Movie Review A classic masterpiece.... ....it is simple, I know, but it does bring back the the meaning of Christmas, that Christ our King, was born on Christmas Day. It is too common that we forget the TRUE meaning of Christmas and instead focus on the commercial side of it. This movie reminds us (at least it does me) that the true holiday spirit is that it is in Christ we trust, and that all else is just window dressing. In a child's eyes, like my 8 year old son, it is very important to remember why we celebrate Christmas, and why we need to remember that it is for Christ, not ourselves, that we celebrate. Timeless! Very melancholy, music, voices, tone and all. But it really works. Simplicity at its best. My young ones can even appreciate it. Timeless! Submitted by Cheryljansen (Long Beach, CA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No This review is for a different format.

| | Kirk Franklin And The Family Christmas CD (1995)
Charlie Brown Christmas review
$8.75 In addition to energized versions of such treasured Christmas songs as "Go Tell It on the Mountain" and "Silent Night," Franklin & the Family contribute several non-traditional songs that explore the depth of God's love and the Christian basis for the holiday. "Now Behold the Lamb," for example, is a ballad that testifies to the truth of salvation, and features stirring ensemble singing, strong solo vocalists, and plenty of enthusiastic exclamations. The deeply funky "Jesus Is the Reason for the Season" kicks things up a notch with its bumping rhythm and infectious chorus. With its mix of old and new musical styles and its impassioned performances, CHRISTMAS is sure to please those looking for a meaningful and musically fresh holiday album.
Contemporary gospel star Kirk Franklin made one of his most accessible and commercially successful records with CHRISTMAS. From Franklin's heartfelt spoken-word intro to the breezy, smoothed-out version of "O Come All Ye Faithful," CHRISTMAS blends devout Christian messages and the power of traditional gospel with contemporary R&B and hip-hop flavors. It's no coincidence that Franklin's 17-piece chorus is called "the Family," because the entire record is suffused with the warmth and intimacy ...
