Great story
No matter wether true or not, this film is great entertainment. It gives one an idea of what German war camps were like.

Good but not true
I had a cousin who was in the real Stalag 17 and he said that the movie was nothing like the real thing. Other than that the movie is pretty good.

william holden at his best
the movie is set in a prisoner of war camp during wwII. some one is ratting them out. excellent drama.

Stalag 17 -- Not Just For War Movie Buffs
Stalag 17 video Although I am not a war movie hero by any stretch of the imagination (and I am a woman), I absolutely loved this movie and have seen it several times. Stalag 17 film While set in depressing Nazi Germany, the movie manages to be funny while being suspenseful at the same time... keeping viewers on edge, trying to figure out what star William Holden has suspected all along about one of their own.

Great film for the whole family
I watch this movie alot. Not only is this one of my favorite movies but my daughter who is 30 has been watching this with me for at least 10 years now. I think my granddaughter also likes it. Great fun to watch.
