Very melancholy, music, voices, tone and all. But it really works. Simplicity at its best. My young ones can even appreciate it. Timeless!

The Greatest Christmas Cartoon Of All Time
A charlie Brown Christmas is by far the greatest christmas cartoon of all time it is unique in its on way and it sent out a Christmas message that most Christmas movies dont put which is why A Charlie Brown Christmas is the greatest Christmas cartoon of all time the great pumpkin and a charlie brown Thanksgiving were also classics but nothing close to A Charlie Brown Christmas.

Old, but still a clasic. Now living in irland, this movie reminds me of home ans all the strange Christmas's we used to have in Baltimore. This movie reveals a child's heart of in Christmas classic.

....it is simple, I know, but it does bring back the the meaning of Christmas, that Christ our King, was born on Christmas Day. It is too common that we forget the TRUE meaning of Christmas and instead focus on the commercial side of it. This movie reminds us (at least it does me) that the true holiday spirit is that it is in Christ we trust, and that all else is just window dressing. In a child's eyes, like my 8 year old son, it is very important to remember why we celebrate Christmas, and why we need to remember that it is for Christ, not ourselves, that we celebrate.

With the talents of Chuck Jones, Boris Karloff, and Dr. Seuss combined, there was almost no way this could be anything but an instant classic. Watched regularly every holiday season and beloved by children and cynical adults alike, this animated gem is just that and more. Boris Karloff narrates and stars as the odious Mr. Grinch, the sinister green monster who plots to steal all the Christmas presents in the town of Whoville. All goes well with his dastardly plan until little Cindy Loo Who (who was no more than two) gums up the works with her innocent Christmas spirit. Jones directed, with Karloff supplying the sweetly sinister narration and voice of the Grinch. The story is from the book by Dr. Seuss. Thurl Ravenscroft (of "Tony the Tiger" breakfast commercial fame) provides the memorable bass singing voice for the tune "You're a Mean One, Mister Grinch." Filled with close attention to comic detail, memorable characterizations, and delightful wordplay, this is essential holiday viewing for the whole family.
