This 82 minute feature film is a DVD starring Elaine Hendri x and Molly Shannon. Shannon portrays Mary Katherine Gallagher, the terminally bumbling, energy-stuffed Catholic schoolgirl whose one wish is to kiss Sky (Ferrell), the hunkiest fella at St. Monica's High School. Mary Katherine thinks her only chance at stealing Sky away from his gorgeous girlfriend Evian (Hendrix) is to become a star, and her only chance at accomplishing this task is by entering St. Monica's talent contest and winning a role as an extra in a Catholic-approved, morally-correct movie. McCulloch's film is, like most Saturday Night Live-big screen adaptations, more a series of loose sketches that keep the viewer laughing throughout. Estimated budget: $14 million. Estimated domestic gross: $30 million. Superstar Reviews: "...[Shannon] is in fine form as the heroine..."-- Anita Gates, New York Times "...Amusing....A rooting spirit a la REVENGE OF THE NERDS..."
-- Christine James, Box Office "...SUPERSTAR proves a pleasant surprise....[The director] gives a cast of talented comics plenty of room for riffing..."
-- Dennis Harvey, Variety "...Shannon is a dynamo..."

$11.45 Imaginative theology and a bigger-than-usual budget make Kevin Smith's (CHASING AMY, CLERKS) fourth film a kind of post-Catholic fantasy that only a comic-book enthusiast of his caliber could dream up. It concerns banished angels, Loki (Matt Damon) and Bartleby (Ben Affleck) who, after a few millennia in Wisconsin, discover a loophole in Catholic doctrine that would allow them back into heaven--but prove the fallibility of God and destroy the universe. As they make their way to New Jersey to receive a plenary indulgence, God dispatches a seraphim (Alan Rickman) to recruit lapsed-Catholic Bethany (Linda Fiorentino) to stop the angels. She finds help in muses, prophets (Jay and Silent Bob), and the forgotten 13th apostle, Rufus (Chris Rock). ...

Superstar review
$7.95 David O. Russell makes his entry into the major studio big leagues with the electric war dramedy THREE KINGS. The politically charged script, based on a fictional story by John Ridley, is a sly reworking of KELLY'S HEROES, and concerns four Gulf War soldiers who discover a map that may lead to an enormous stash of gold bullion. Russell gives actors George Clooney, Mark Wahlberg, Ice Cube, and Spike ...

Superstar movie DVD
$21.95 FIGHT CLUB is narrated by a lonely, unfulfilled young man (Edward Norton) who finds his only comfort in feigning terminal illness and attending disease support groups. Hopping from group to group, he encounters another pretender, or "tourist," the morose Marla Singer (Helena Bonham Carter), who immediately gets under his skin. However, while returning from a business trip, he meets a more intriguing character--the subversive Tyler Durden (Brad Pitt). They become fast friends, bonding over a mutual disgust for corporate consumer-culture hypocrisy. Eventually, the two start Fight Club, which convenes in a bar basement where angry men get to vent their frustrations in brutal, bare-knuckle bouts. Fight Club soon becomes the men's only real priority; when the club starts a cross-country expansion, things start getting really crazy.
Like Tyler Durden himself, director David Fincher's FIGHT CLUB, based on the novel by Chuck Palahniuk, is startlingly aggressive and gleefully mischievous as it skewers the superficiality of American pop culture. Outstanding performances ...

$7.75 43-year-old Reuben Soady (Jeff Daniels) is making a name for himself in the history of his family by being the only sibling to never successfully bag a buck. The 1989 hunting season in Michigan's Upper Peninsula is about to begin and the Soady clan is about to carry on their tradition of deer hunting. In order for the bumbling Reuben to succeed this time out, he is forced to change a few small family rituals. These changes bring on nothing but mayhem as Reuben causes a chain reaction of wild events.
It's the day before the 1989 hunting season opens. For generations, the men of the Soady familyu have trekked to the same ramshackle deer camp north of Escanaba in Michigan's Upper Peninsula to drink, cause a little bit of trouble, and bag bucks. But in the words of Patriarch Albert, "Dat year camp was as tense as a moose's butt durin' fly season." At 43, Reuben Soady is in danger of becoming the oldest member in the history of the family never to bag a buck. As the fateful ...

Superstar film
$10.99 With its self-titled sophomore album, Long Island-based band Bayside delivers another slice of poppy emo-core with delightfully rough edges and a strong sense of melody. The group's roots show through in its strong hardcore influence, which is especially apparent in the from-the-gut vocal performances of Anthony Raneri. With the help of big-time producers Shep Goodman and Kenny Gioia (Mandy Moore) the group refines its songwriting and offers a diverse sonic palette ranging from the jaunty ska-like feel of "Blame It On Bad Luck" to the English folk-influenced acoustic track "Don't Call Me Peanut."
Initial pressings contained a DVD.
