Body Parts features Prophet Posse's large amalgam of rappers laying down horrifying rhymes over Three 6 Mafia-like beats. It's quite a provocative album, not just in terms of the terrifying lyrics, but also in terms of production; these beats are about as hardcore as hardcore rap gets, rivaling Three 6 Mafia's most rousing moments. Given these characteristics, this album probably won't appeal to most rap listeners' tastes, except for the most perverse hardcore rap fanatics. Three 6 Mafia, the Kaze, Indo G, and M-Child, in addition to several others, play a large role in the album; furthermore, abrasive Flint, MI, hardcore rap group the Dayton Family guests, bringing yet more aggression to an already malevolent album. If you can stomach the horror themes and the testosterone, this is actually a rather effective album; the coupling of the hard beats and the angry rapping really evokes a striking, riot-starting aura. Yet, this isn't a phenomenal album by a long shot; there are just too many rappers for a consistent feel, and the emphasis often tends to be on shocking exploitation rather than skills. ~ Jason Birchmeier

Prophet Posse da posse! Mane this album is hard as hell! You got da whole click on here, DJ Paul, Juicy J, Lord Infamous, Gangsta Boo, Koopsta Knicca, Crunchy Black, Project Pat, Indo G, MC Mack, K-Rock, Scan Man, T-Rock, Droopy Drew Dog, M-Child, The Dayton Family, and da late Nigga Creep. Everybody go hard on this album. This is when da Mafia was deep as hell. DJ Paul & Juicy J produced a very dark album that bumps too hard. Standout tracks are, "Smoked Out, Loced Out", "Orange Mound", and "Bout The South". I highly recommend this album. Submitted by Yo Thug (Memphis 10) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

If you're going to do whatever possible to look like a doll, you might as well go all the way and sound like a talking doll, which is one thing Lil' Kim does effectively during much of The Naked Truth, her fourth album in ten years. When she yanks the cord out of her back and comes to life, it's only to deliver her most spiteful and bitter lines. She has many gripes and an even larger number of foes. The release of the album coincided with the beginning of a yearlong prison sentence for perjury and conspiracy, so it's entirely understandable why she would have some embittered thoughts to get off her chest, but even when she's playing the role of a hedonist, she's not much fun, sounding distracted and disinterested. When she applies a tired, lifeless drone to her rhymes, she often sounds downright sluggish. (Think ...
