Standard Screen; Bio/Filmographies; Soundtrack English; Dolby Digital 5.1 Re Woodstock '99, like the original 3 day festival of Peace, Love, and Music, was more complicated than its happy slogan made it out to be. However, despite the few incidents of violence and behind the chaos, there was a great vibe and even greater music. Many of America's most popular bands represent here, including Red Hot Chili Peppers, Korn, Kid Rock, Sherly Crow, and the Godfather of Soul, James Brown. This video is a fantastic archive of the pop music scene at the turn of the 20th century. Woodstock '99 Movie Review Average Rating: (2.7 out of 5 stars) Why Compare ????? Under Brian's catagory ??? First off this don't really belong in the Brian Setzer catagory regardless of Brian's one contribution to this crap-a-looza of a so-called festival. I have nothing but the utmost respect for Mr. Setzer. He was probably one of the better performers at the '99 Woodstock. It's blaspheme to say that. In fact as I write this I'm listening to Brian's latest cd, the tribute to Sun Records Rock-a-billy Riot Vol.I, a hell'uva project indeed.
So let's put this in the correct place and no more comparing festivals. Submitted by Ward Cleaver (Springdale, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 1 of 1 found this helpful.
anybody who is a fan well its a good dvd, its packed full of a number of great artists, the sound is great, the camera work puts you up close and personal with each band as they perform.
many in between interviews with artists, fans, and whatever else is going on around Woodstock 99.
If your into the old Woodstock and don't like any new colors, well this may not be for you.
but if your just a plain out music and concert lover that listens to whatever pleases you, than this DVD is a nice treat and will be watched more than once i assure you. Submitted by duuuuuumb (ile des chenes MB CAN) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
An event (?) Were they trying to recreate or create something? Or some deep "hybrid" (enough of that word!...). The '69 event was something ultimately unplanned and evolved - the level of creativity was astounding (even without Joni Mitchell!!). The '99 thing was totally planned; the audience itself seemed to be playing to the cameras instead of joyfully movin' and groovin'. Sure there's gotta be energy with the Red Hot guys; with James Brown (who gives us a rather mechanical "Sex Machine" - he's got 48,000 hits and relies on the same 9); you got Sheryl Crow doin' her sensuous thing.
The show apparently ended in violence and destruction. A "tribute" to Yasgur? I think not. Submitted by PHIL (NJ, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

$12.85 The feature film debut of Hayao Miyazaki (NAUSICAÄ OF THE VALLEY OF THE WIND, PRINCESS MONONOKE), THE CASTLE OF CAGLIOSTRO depicts one adventure of the master thief Lupin and his rough-around-the-edges gunman, Jigen. Something of a cross between Batman, James Bond, and Cary Grant's character in TO CATCH A THIEF, Lupin is a suave ladies' man who is also given to feats of athletic daring, aided by a gadget filled belt that gets him out of more than a few scrapes. The plot has Lupin and Jigen traveling to the sleepy little country of Cagliostro and coming to the aid of the unwilling fiance of the diabolical ...

$11.55 Led by the radical and charismatic punk poet Jello Biafra, the Dead Kennedys are one of America's seminal punk bands. One of the most influential political punk bands, DK took a stance against the American government, capitalism, and of course, corporate rock. THE EARLY YEARS LIVE brings the viewer back to the band's beginnings, compiling live footage from 1978 to 1981. Filmed at various locations, including Berkeley's Sproul Plaza and Target Studios, these performances feature much of the material off of the 1978 FRESH FRUIT FOR ROTTING VEGETABLES ...

Woodstock '99 movie DVD
$13.55 GRATEFUL DAWG is an illuminating documentary that shows an entirely different side to Grateful Dead leader Jerry Garcia. In the early 1960s, Garcia met bluegrass mandolin musician David Grisman, and their mutual love of Bill Monroe's music led them to form Old & In the Way, which released its first album in 1973. Their collaboration loosened up Grisman and tightened up Garcia, resulting in excellent records and a lasting friendship that is revealed here in fascinating detail. (They even end up looking somewhat alike.) After spending thirteen years doing other projects, they reunited and eventually played a Christmas concert at Sweetwater on December 18, 1990. They also played together a year later, at the Warfield Theater in San Francisco on December 17. Never-before-seen footage from these two shows dominates ...
